[It's not as if Katara doesn't know her share of trustworthy pirates. But she would take Jack using something she taught him to hurt someone who didn't deserve it very... personally.

The pirate is lucky, however. He's hit on one of her sweet spots - she's been a deck monkey since she could crawl, after all.]

She is a sweet ship, the Joanna Joyce.

[It was evening and after dinner. Sokka had done his part to clean up before getting a notification in his journal.

Oh. Back to the farm again. Go figure. After passing on the news to Suki, he ends up passing it on to Katara before she's off for her bending practice. After that though, he feels the need to complain.]

I can do lots of stuff. I don't know why they keep sending me back to the farm. Yeah, it's nice and safe and I do like the food, but would it kill them to let me see maybe just a few other things?

Well, there wasn't much to see up in the mountains. What other missions have you volunteered for?

Almost all of them! I keep adding more, it doesn't help.

[He shakes his head.]

This time they want me to train people from the other enclosures. I guess it's a good thing I have a little experience with Shiki. [And recently Masaomi, actually.]

Fight. I guess they get drafted same as we do.

[But from what he's heard and seen... they aren't that great of fighters.]

Well... maybe that will be a little bit more interesting for you than the normal waiting around.

That depends on whether they'll even listen to me. I'm not sure I really inspire the whole... master swordsman thing.

You don't need to train them to be master swordsmen. You just need to train them to work together and use what they have in order to do the most damage and protect themselves. And no one is better than you at improvising in combat.

[Except maybe her. Or maybe she's just as good. Hmm.]

Well maybe if I'm lucky, they'll all be really short. At least that way I'll look intimidating and imposing.

I think it's as harmless as you get. [A small shrug.] Anyway, I think Master Souji will be glad. I'll be able to pass on some of his stuff. Not a lot, but... some of it.

... not good. [He's quiet. Concerned. He's heard what Souji's fate is. And while yes, death isn't permanent here, it's still a troubling subject.] I was gonna visit him in the morning, before I go.

That's... probably a good idea. Even if he might not want anyone seeing him sick, he strikes me as the kind of man who would appreciate company.
