[Sometime early this afternoon, Katara escapes from the house with no particular destination in mind. All she knows is that Zuko is finally well enough to be left alone, and even if he's not Roku - Roku - is around so he's not exactly unprotected.

But between Zuko, Roku, Jet... and the imminent battle with Aku... Katara desperately needs some time to clear her head. And just as importantly - this is her first spring. When they'd left the South Pole with Aang, the world was already in bloom. This is the first time she's actually gotten to see blossoms on trees or fields of budding flowers, and even though the Easter Egg hunt gave her some time to explore, she just can't get enough of it. It's a thousand new sounds and smells, and the thunderstorm has left the sky freshly washed and the blossoms are bright against the green.

She is not headed anywhere in particular, although she has a vague notion of checking in on Tanyuu, she's not sure where Ginko's friend has settled. So after wandering around the borders of the forest and any other place where there may be flowers, and lying down in a field and staring up at the clouds for a while, Katara will head back into town. Once there, she'll poke around the town square for a bit... and decide to explore some of the community houses, because she's only been in there once before and they seem to have mysteriously... grown.

And this is how she ends up on the roof of Community Building 4, leaning on the edge with her journal in her lap and a smile on her face.]

Tanyuu, if you'd like to meet somewhere for tea or something, I'd like to see how you're settling in.

[Since Raine was already out and about that day for some errands, their paths are likely to cross while she's on her way back home. She'll give a small wave in greeting.]

[Katara waves back.] Hi, Raine! Out enjoying the sunshine?

I have to admit that walks are nice after long rainy days. What about yourself?

Zuko's finally well enough for me to leave him alone, so I'm just out enjoying the day before... [Before we go do something monumentally stupid.]

It's the first spring I've had a chance to see.

I'm glad to hear that. Having some time to yourself must also be refreshing.

[She tilts her head slightly at that comment.] The first...? Were you from a different climate?

Yes, it is. Hopefully I'll be able to go to school soon.

[And she shrugs a little.] There's not much spring in the South Pole. Not like this, anyway. We did have some plants that would bloom, and the sun would start coming back but... nothing like this.

I hope so as well, especially before the next break.

Ah, I see... so you're usually accustomed to colder temperatures?

Oh? When does the next break start?

And, yeah. When I first got here, it was a lot more like home. Now it's starting to look a little like the Earth Kingdom.

In a few months, but time does seem to pass quicker than we expect. But don't worry, I was only teasing; you can come whenever you're ready.

Earth Kingdom?

[Oh - a joke? Huh. Katara smiles and nods.] In my world, there are - were - Four Nations. The Earth Kingdom is one of them. It's the largest and it's right in the middle. To the west is the Fire Nation. The Watertribes are at the North and South Poles. The Air Nomads.. had temples to the north, south, east, and west.

[Albeit an unplanned one. She nods at Katara's words then; as soon as she begins explaining, it does sound a little familiar to something she may have heard or read before.] Ah, I see. And your nations must represent the different elements. Did you do a lot of traveling?

Not really. Just this past year, with Aang. Though most of it we saw from Appa's back.

[She nods at that, and then tilts her head.] I'm sorry that I keep asking questions, but I don't want to assume. Appa?

Oh, I don't mind. Appa is our flying bison.

Ah, I see. I've read about them, though I can't say I've seen them before. I didn't realize that they could fly either.

We didn't know they could either, until we met Appa. But it turns out that the air bisons are the original airbenders, so, that's how.

That's fascinating. Is there any written history of it in your world?

If there is, it would have been in Wan Shi Tong's library, but he took that back to the spirit world. When we were at the Northern Air Temple, Aang said that the history of his people was recorded in some of the mosaics... but the Mechanist had destroyed a lot of those panels...

Hmm... I was wondering if there were any possibilities of the texts showing up here.

You said that they came when people from the worlds come, right? A lot of people from my world have shown up... but if it needs to be someone who's an airbender, the only one I know of is Aang. And he's already gone home.

As long as you're here, it would be enough. It's from your world, after all.

Well, let me know if you see some. I'd love to learn more about how things were with the air nomads.

...they probably won't be books like the journals, though. We use scrolls.

I wonder if they would have been adapted. But I won't know until after I take a look for them.

Do you think they'd have books about the other nations as well?

Most likely, if they have any written records.
