[For no very specific reason at all, Katara is happy this late afternoon. The air is getting colder, and the very fact that it's nipping at her face is enough to make her smile. Add to that the glorious storm of yesterday, that it is still drizzling...

It's started drizzling as she runs her errands in town, and she puts a hand up to bend an 'umbrella' above her head as she walks along. She forgets herself, though, as she comes to some large puddles in the road, and dropping her hand, stares at them for half a beat.

Well, she's already wet.

So she jumps in. Not bending at all, simply splashing about in the puddles along her way.

Feel free to catch her in this rare display of immaturity and glee - or even join her! Hopefully she won't catch a cold.

Much later, as she prepares dinner for her house, she makes a voice post.]

Everything stayed pretty mild back in my village, but I've seen a few other places where changing seasons were easier to notice. It'll be good to watch them here. [ Damn Fire Country's moderately warm climate B| ]

How about the weather where you're from?

Cold. [She grins a little.] I grew up in the South Pole.

The South Pole, huh? [ Tone is all curiosity. ]

Right. So there was snow on the ground year round. These different seasons are something that's really new to me.

It's good that you're getting to see them, at least. Everyone should get to at least once. [ Allll the lovely seasons and such~ ]

Yeah, I think so too. It's really beautiful.

So are you settling in all right? [He seemed pretty settled the first time she met him, but then...]

Yeah, I've been fine. I guess I was pretty lucky to come in while things are so quiet. [ Being settled is apparently one of his inherent skills. ]

Has everything been all right for you?

[...why is this such a hard question to answer? Why does she even feel compelled to give it honest consideration?

Things have been a lot better since that day. I got some stuff figured out.

I'm glad to hear it. It wouldn't be right for someone to get weighed down with too much around here.

[...oh, Chouji. That makes Katara's mouth twist wryly. But enough about her.] So what have you been up to?

Not too much. Of course, I guess I've never been really good at finding stuff to do for myself. [ Missions tend to come in handy, go figure. ] But at least that means I can say nothing too bad's happened.

Have you ever been to school? We didn't have one where I grew up.

Yeah, I went for a few years. It can be pretty important back home. Graduated when I was twelve, so it wasn't for a really long time. [ >> class. Not one of his stronger points, but it made for some good times. ]

Wow, when you were twelve? That's pretty young! Most of the other people who went to schools graduated when they were seventeen or eighteen.

That seems pretty late for getting out. Aa, but a lot of schools are probably different, huh?
