[For no very specific reason at all, Katara is happy this late afternoon. The air is getting colder, and the very fact that it's nipping at her face is enough to make her smile. Add to that the glorious storm of yesterday, that it is still drizzling...

It's started drizzling as she runs her errands in town, and she puts a hand up to bend an 'umbrella' above her head as she walks along. She forgets herself, though, as she comes to some large puddles in the road, and dropping her hand, stares at them for half a beat.

Well, she's already wet.

So she jumps in. Not bending at all, simply splashing about in the puddles along her way.

Feel free to catch her in this rare display of immaturity and glee - or even join her! Hopefully she won't catch a cold.

Much later, as she prepares dinner for her house, she makes a voice post.]

[Oops. Did that splash land dangerously close to you, Naoki?

So do you end up doing it a lot? I kinda do it mostly, t--

[Pausing. Yes. That splash was mighty close. Doot doot, splashing a bit himself...and it might be a little close, too. WHOOPS.]

[Katara attempts to surpress her laughter and be stern. It... sort of works. Kinda.] Hey! Watch where you're splashing!

[>> /SPLASH. And that is a non-bending enhanced splash definitely headed in Naoki's direction.]

[Naoki squawks a little at the splash and laughs. Not like he wasn't wet already...]

Watch where you're splashing, too! [Splashin' right back. 8|]

[Oh, direct hit! Griiiiiiin.]

I don't know why I should! You're already wet.

[And totally dressed for swimming, too. Dude, do you just never wear a shirt?

And Katara jumps right by you, Naoki. That splash will have a nice high range.]

[Yep. He never wears a shirt. |D]

I don't wanna get wetter, though!

[...kinda silly saying it at this point, but eh. Also, jumping away from that splash with another little squawk and sending one right back.]

[Eeek! Dirty puddle water. She puts a hand out to stop it from splashing her ineffectually, still not bending. And then she grins.]

Then maybe you should quit splashing!

[And on that word, she kicks some more water towards him. She is not bending, but even though her will is tightly contained, the water responds slightly more than normal to the motion and the splash has good lift.]

[Hi, puddle water. Totally going over his head now, leaving him spluttering and shaking his head furiously like a wet dog. Don't mind some water spraying in your direction, Katara.]

[Ffffff. Oops. She backs up away from the spray, her nose wrinkling at it.]

I can take care of that for you, if you like.

[Blinking through sopping hair.]

Ah, can you?

[She laughs a little.] Yeah.

[And lifting her arms in a circular, waving motion, Katara bends Naoki completely dry, still dripping wet herself. ...of course, she's not keeping the rain off him, so the top of his head is immediately dampened again.]

[Naoki looks impressed at that, lifting his umbrella now to ward off the rain from his hair. He combs a hand through it to shake the water out.]

That really seems to come in handy.

[She grins, sweeping her hair to the side to wring it out. She's not ready to stop being wet yet - it just feels good to be so surrounded by her element, on some base level she can't explain, and isn't completely consciously aware of - but the dripping down her back is getting kind of annoying.]

I think so, yeah.

[She loves her bending, man.]

[Naoki tilts his head now to look out from under the brim of the umbrella at the sky, watching the rain.]

It's really after raining a bit, huh? And yesterday was...

[He hums and stops there. He didn't like that storm.]

[She cuts him a concerned and perceptive look when he trails off there - she doesn't mind storms herself... as long as she is not out in them. Which has happened too many times in the past year.]

Yeah. It can't keep up, though. The water's got to go back to the sky eventually.

[He pinkens at the look, murmurs quietly.] I'm not one for lightning.

[Then a chuckle as Naoki tucks one hand into his pocket, the other holding the umbrella.] And yeah. It'll be gone soon enough.

[Ah.] Me either.

[And then she smiles at him.] So where were you headed?

[He cracks a smile and then hitches a shoulder in a shrug.]

Nowhere specific. I just wanted to get out and stretch my legs a bit.

Well, mission accomplished, in that case! [A grin.]

I was just picking stuff up for dinner.

[He chuckles.]

Oh? What're you planning to have?

[She shrugs.] I don't know - probably something with vegetables and noodles, and something with meat.

[Tired of being wet, Katara bends the water off of herself and begins to work at keeping it off of herself.]
