[For no very specific reason at all, Katara is happy this late afternoon. The air is getting colder, and the very fact that it's nipping at her face is enough to make her smile. Add to that the glorious storm of yesterday, that it is still drizzling...

It's started drizzling as she runs her errands in town, and she puts a hand up to bend an 'umbrella' above her head as she walks along. She forgets herself, though, as she comes to some large puddles in the road, and dropping her hand, stares at them for half a beat.

Well, she's already wet.

So she jumps in. Not bending at all, simply splashing about in the puddles along her way.

Feel free to catch her in this rare display of immaturity and glee - or even join her! Hopefully she won't catch a cold.

Much later, as she prepares dinner for her house, she makes a voice post.]

I'll probably just huddle myself in layers of blankets and never leave the house!

Oh, but then you'd miss out on all the fun! There's plenty of material here to make you something really warm for winter, if that's what you're worried about. And I'm pretty sure the Malnosso change the clothes in the stores to suit the season.

Well, aren't they just the nicest. [A grin is pretty audible in that playful tone.] They wouldn't want me to miss out on the fun?

Admittedly, I'm pretty interested in this 'snow' business.

[Her tone is dry.] Oh yes. They take very good care of us. [-_-]

[And then her tone brightens.] Just make sure you can find something warm and waterproof, and you'll be just fine! You can have lots of fun with snow on the ground. You'll have to come sledding with us! You'll have been way too big to go penguin sledding, but Sokka can makes us some regular sleds.

[This is the excited babble of a teenage girl who does not often excitedly babble.]

Aah, I see... You must really love the snow then—you said it was like that back in your home world, right? Where you came from?

Love the snow? ...I guess I never really thought about it. It was just... always there. I miss it, though. But warmer weather is nice too. It's a lot more fun to go swimming when the water's not freezing.

I can only image. I would prefer something in the middle...

All our water were in wells, underground... unless dogpaddling in a bathtub when you're 5 counts. It was just never necessary to know in the desert.

I guess that makes sense. [Even if it is WEIRD.] We had to learn how to swim if we ever wanted to leave the village - we all learned pretty young. You should learn before it starts to get cold! It's fun.

Fun, huh? Well, I wouldn't want to try in the middle of winter. Maybe I'll give it a shot, then.

You should! But... make sure you take someone with you who knows how.
