[Today is Catch Up Day. There are more than a few people Katara hasn't heard from in a while, or that she meant to catch up with after first meeting them when they came, and so after morning chores she sits down to make a couple of voice posts. All messages are filtered between 70-80 percent, and the filters are mostly there as a courtesy to keep from trolling your journals.]

[And some time after she's done with those, she begins making house calls. Sigmund, she has not yet satisfied herself about your ribs since you won't give her a straight answer... and she wants to hear if there's been any news about Katie, so that house will receive a knock on the door. Also, there have been a few 'normal people' she's met that she's concerned about, so she'll be making her way to Alexis' building, hoping to bump into her. She'll also be stopping by the Straw Hat house. She doesn't want to embarrass Nami or anything, but she does want to see with her own eyes that she's okay. If you think she should be checking on your character too, she probably is, or feel free to stop her as she goes along the road.

...although when she returns to her house much later, Katara realizes Something Important and makes a voice post.]

Does anyone know how to prepare a garden for the winter? There has to be something you can do to keep them so that they'll grow the next year, right?

Michael? He's nice. He's about Zuko's age, though he looks a little older. He's from a world that's... really different than mine - different than yours too. They fly spaceships and fold space... it almost sounded like shifting.

[He's also cute, for the record. Great smile, amazing eyes, not that Katara noticed, because she didn't.]

[Blink. And this is where Katara is usually hard to troll with an 'Of course I like him, he's nice.' Except that Michael has managed to not become instantly friend-zoned through valiant effort and outrageous charm, though she's working on getting passed that and putting him in the nice safe category where he belongs.]

Not exactly a spaceship. He called them 'Valkyries.' They can change where they fight, apparently. From outer space, to standing on land, to something in between...

[It's almost beyond her imagination, to be honest.]

...that sounds fascinating. I'd love to see what it's like to navigate in outer space. Or well-- [and there's this tiny finger point up] -- up there as far as the stars, I think it is.

[Katara visibly softens.] Yeah. It sounded really beautiful.

[Finishing up one shoe now, Katara gently places it down on the brick.] Here, try that on.

[Give her a second, Katara, wiggling the world's smallest moccasins onto her feet. And then curling her toes in them, before she stands up and takes a few steps.]

This is so weird.

[A sympathetic smile.] Do they feel OK?

They do! I mean, I'll take getting used to them, but that won't take long. Thanks, Katara.

You're welcome. If you take them off I can put some treads in them. [You're so tiny, she does not want you to slip! D: As she somehow imagines that to be worse small.]

I have... no idea how to measure you for the clothes, though. Maybe you can mark the cloth like you marked the leather?

Okay. [And she sits back down to take the shoes off, holding them up to drop in Katara's hand when she's ready.] I could try that. Though I could also wrap the cloth around me and maybe mark it where it overlaps or something?

That could work! [She holds out her hand and takes the dropped shoes before turning them over and carefully beginning to work in some tread with the sharp point of a needle.]

[Apparently being miniature makes for insta-cute. |D But Nami takes a swatch of cloth-- blue, ilke Katara's watertribe outfit-- and wraps it around her, making a faint pencil mark on it at the chest, hips, and waist. They can always take up the bottom later.]

Heh. This is kinda fun.

I'm glad. [She grins at Nami, totally unable to hide the fact that seeing Nami drape herself in this tiny patch is really, really cute.]

My Gran-Gran would be so surprised to see me actually volunteering to sew.

Hah, I know what you mean. If I'm feeling really creative, I might mend a tear or two. Or Luffy's hat. That's about it.

It was an important part of our daily chores. [She makes a face and carefully puts the shoes on top of the brick away from Nami.] I never thought it was fair that Sokka could get his clothes all ripped but he wouldn't have to fix them. But we sewed for other things too - like making sure our tents kept out as much cold as possible.

Yeah, that'd be useful. But I agree. [Grin.] Sokka should look after his own damn clothes.

It's just not the way things worked in the community. [She repeats this by rote.] Everyone does what they can to chip in - so it's not like I'd have to fish for my own supper.

[She shrugs a little.] It's so different here, with the food just... there.

Ah, well when you put it like that, I understand. You're part of a team. [A crew, as it were.]

Yeah. I guess it was like that...

Are you ready for me to take a look at the fabric?

Sure thing. [She'll just unwrap herself now, double-checking the pencil marks are visible before holding it up.]

[Katara takes it carefully and stares down at it with a thoughtful hum. She'll just be working out the best way to make this a pattern from those measurements.]

Must be weird, trying to sew something that size.
