[There's a somewhat familiar voice over the journals this afternoon. The setting is clearly the forest, as there are small woodland creatures scampering about. The voice itself seems to have an almost musical lilt to it.]

Hi, everyone! I'm back. I'm sorry if I worried you. Everything seems to be in one piece, and I'm making my way back to town now! Of course, my powers are missing, but they'll be back soon enough!

[Does it seem a little odd for Katara to be casually mentioning such an obvious weakness over an open network, or to be referring to her bending as 'powers?' It gets weirder. Because eventually she'll make her way out of the forest, and you may bump into her as she'll head towards the fountain and all around town. Is she... are those sparkles? And weren't her eyes blue? Why is her hair lighter? What is going on here?]

Lina is so stunned by this sight that a glob of half frozen mashed potatoes lands on her pants with a soft "plop."]

H-Hey...are you okay?

[Katara turns at the sound of that oh-so-familiar voice, her hands clasped loosely in front of her. It's her. Her life-long best friend and rival for the title of best cupcake maker, Whateverhernameis.

Katara tosses her hair haughtily, her eyes cooling to a light celadon.]

Of course I am. [And then she smiles a little.] But thank you for asking.

[The sparkles increase in their intensity.]

Hey, no prob...

...saaaaay, how did you do that? With your eyes, I mean. That's kinda cool!

[Katara blinks at her, her eyes fading to porraceous.]

What are you talking about?

[Had her lifelong best-friend-and-rival forgotten her CURSE as she had forgotten her lifelong-best-friend-and-rival's name?]

[Hrm? Lina slides off the fountain, her lunch temporarily forgotten, to stare blankly up into Katara's face.

Did the Malnosso do something to your eyes? And, um...skin? [Sparkling, why are you still sparkling?]

[Katara puts her hands on her hips, and with magnificent disregard to her own little memory problem, leans forward, her eyes a wounded citrine.]

I can't believe you've forgotten!

Okee dokee. Maybe if we play along with the strange girl with the sparkling and the weird eyes, she won't hurt us! Yeah, Lina, that's a great plan! Lina claps her hands together, pasting her most charming smile on her face.]

O-Oh, right! Of...course I didn't forget. Ahahaha, of course your eyes have always changed color! I was just teasing, you know that, right?

Oh, you were? [The eyes go through several rapid changes before ending up a strange mixture of lovat. And then she laughs, as if she is just coming in on the joke.]

Good one. You got me that time!

[OH GOD SOMEONE HELP!

Just. Keep. Smiling. Lina pats Katara companionably on the back.]

You know me! Always kidding around! I just figured that it would, y'know, lighten the mood!

I'm glad you caught on, otherwise I would have had to start pretending that I didn't remember your name and that would have just been ridiculous!

[More of that delightfully chiming laughter, the kind that reminds listeners of a bubbling brook or rainbows on a Saturday morning.]

No, that would just be silly. [...] What is your name, anyway?

[Lina has heard enough bubbling brooks to know that laughter should not sound that way.]

Ahahaha! You stole my joke, you...jokester! Y-You know me, right? Lina! Lina Inverse!

[Katara's chartruse eyes fill up with tears at that-]

Lina! My dear friend! How could the Malnosso have taken my memory of your name away! Isn't it bad enough that they've gotten rid of all my powers, now they have to go after my friendships too?

[And Katara will break down int graceful sobs here. Yes. Graceful. Sobs.]

[...hesitantly patting Katara on the shoulder, as though afraid the girl might bite. Which, in fact, she is. ~~God, why can't Lina ever look that graceful when she cries?~~]

Th-There...there...i-it'll be okay...I'm sure you'll get your powers back soon...

[Looking for escape routes, now.]
