[There's a somewhat familiar voice over the journals this afternoon. The setting is clearly the forest, as there are small woodland creatures scampering about. The voice itself seems to have an almost musical lilt to it.]

Hi, everyone! I'm back. I'm sorry if I worried you. Everything seems to be in one piece, and I'm making my way back to town now! Of course, my powers are missing, but they'll be back soon enough!

[Does it seem a little odd for Katara to be casually mentioning such an obvious weakness over an open network, or to be referring to her bending as 'powers?' It gets weirder. Because eventually she'll make her way out of the forest, and you may bump into her as she'll head towards the fountain and all around town. Is she... are those sparkles? And weren't her eyes blue? Why is her hair lighter? What is going on here?]

Very easily, in fact. [It's almost impossible to believe these tears when she's acting like this. Besides, he's always been very good at being insensitive to her feelings. So he's just going to slip back, wary of any more sudden hugs.] It's like they sent you back as a Tearbender or something.

Okay, first of all, I know you're not any of those things. Besides that, mathematically speaking that would make you four different peopele. I only see one of you.

And I left out cyborg! [Dramatic sigh.] I'll never get used to that one.

... Katara, you are not and never have been a cyborg.

[markofthebrave]

[She looks at him pityingly, her eyes shifting to cerulean.] Yes I am, Sokka. I was born that way. We just didn't know about it until we got to Luceti. I have a nuclear missile in my pinky.

[She holds it out. See? This one right here.]

... there are no missiles in your fingers. [Grooooan.] Are there any other secrets you haven't told me?

Of course there's no missile in it now, the Malnosso took it from me with all the rest.

Right. I guess it's the Malnosso that are also making me say that that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

[She folds her arms, the sparkle somehow intensifying until it is now almost a glow. Her eyes begin to take on a tealish sheen.]

Maybe it is, because you heard all about this before, remember?

[Maybe he should cover his eyes or something, jeez.]

No, this is all new to me. You know what? Change of subject. Let's get you home.

[She recoils from him, her luteous eyes as garnets.]

I can get home by myself, Sokka. Missing my powers or not, I'm still perfectly capable.

Powers? Your bending doesn't work?

[Okay so he's definitely going to have to keep an eye on her now.]

Nothing works! [She wails.] I can't see in the dark, the missile in my pinky is gone, I can't teleport, the plants don't respond to me, I can't sense water or hear people's thoughts, or even control shadows!

[...it appears as if she's about to start crying again.]

Oh gee, how will you ever live without those powers? I'm not even sure how I'm able to manage without a pinky-missile.

[markofthebrave]

[Katara's luminous eyes well up with sympathy, and she clasps her hands together.] I know - your bravery in the face of such misfortune has always been a source of great inspiration to me.

... right, misfortune. [He can't help but feel insulted now. Katara never treated him like anything less for not having bending, much less acted sympathetic for his 'lacking' it.]

[markofthebrave]

[She wipes away glistening, diamondlike tears, her face somehow looking more dewy and youthful for the experience.]

Of course, having the power to destroy entire towns in your pinky finger is a great burden as well. Not to mention dealing with all the horrors of being a werewolf and a vampire. I'm so lucky that I have someone like you to help see me through this.

You have no idea how lucky. [If you weren't his sister, he'd be so out of here by now.]

[She blinks at him vaguely, sparkling.]

Forget I said anything. How about we go home... and have lunch?

Okay!

[She said brightly, and it seemed as if the very sun shown brighter with the force of her smile.]

[And thus they go home! By sheer strength of will, Sokka does not strangle her at any point on the way back.]
