[It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and nothing can get Katara down. Why? Because she is going on an actual date without any sort of experiment involved - a boy she may have confused feelings about, but one that she likes enough to say 'yes' to, now that they've finally made everything clear.

Chouji has planned a picnic, somewhere along the river, and should the two of them be left mostly in peace, afterwards they'll head over to the rec center.

...and that's when Bad Things start happening. Seriously, who let loose all these packs of rabid wolves and ...zombies? Date plans abandoned, they'll start fighting their way into town to see who needs help where.]

((OOC: So this is a joint post with Chouji and Katara! Are you a friend who comes upon them while peacefully picnicking? (A friend who - gasp - was not told about this date?) A stranger in need of help from your own simulation of horror? Or do you feel like aiding the fine young couple in their battle against the wolves? Have at 'em! Now on your way in you may hear the sound of swords being drawn. And Marriage Proposals. And Death Threats in response to blunt refusals to said Marriage Proposals (those refusals were very blunt). And then low growling as the Proposer gets a little more pushy...

They don't seem really different. That's probably because it was only about a week around here, though. [ Talking makes things totally non-awkward, right? ]

I think the hard part about getting back was getting everything in the right order. A month ago, I was at home getting ready for everything that was about to happen... but I know I was here, too, and hadn't gotten sent back yet. [ Shrug. Mental split, no big deal. ] But I guess that's just what happens.

[ Maybe that's why the Malnosso wind up with people forgetting Luceti completely. Saves the headache :|a ]

[A water whip with the force of an opened fire hydrant behind it should do the trick as Katara scores a direct hit against that thing's head. That should, at least, propel it off of Law, or throw it off course if it hasn't managed to land on him yet, or depending on the terms of the simulation cause it to vanish entirely.

Which would be nice. Because two more have just appeared over that hill. And one of them has spotted Chouji.]

[Katara thinks that talking to bugs totally counts as spying, dude. And yes, she may want to fight about it. Why? Because sometimes she's crazy.

Also, are you approaching the picnic or helping them fight for their lives?]

[That water whip will do nicely. The Zombie Bride is a general class zombie, and while a blow to the head isn't enough to completely propel her away, it's certainly enough to knock her wide open and vulnerable to an incoming nodachi blade.

And what would be a very gory death as the sword bisects through is thankfully edited out as the figure disappears in a flash of light.]

... I think I liked these things better when they were just trying to kill us.

And then he spots the other two. With gleaming steel in their hands, and lovey dovey looks on their faces. Looking at Chouji and himself.]

Well suddenly a very large swarm of bugs is going to swirl around the both of you creating a safe bug haven that's going to deflect all of them away. I know it works that way. That's what happened to Nami and Usopp - and to Zuko, the first time. But it's still strange to think that all these months and years we're here just... vanish like that.

[She glances back up at him, not wanting to stray too far down the point on 'Luceti sucks' road.] I guess they would have thought your mind was under one of those jutsu things, huh?

[Katara ducks a little as the bugs surround them, still holding the water around her, wide-eyed and creeped out.

Her mind does not automatically jump to Shino, because she's never yet seen him fight, but she doesn't attack the bugs either, because they seem to be helping. She does, however, back towards Chouji for reassurance because - this is really creepy.]
