Do you think that there's such a thing as a power that is wrong, not because of how it's used, but just because of what it does?

[After staying holed up in her room with the door shut - quite an unusual break of habit for her - Katara decides to head into town. She wants to check out that night club that she'd heard about - she heard there would be music!

From there it's the usual errands, like the grocery store and the Item Shop. Dinner tonight will be Something Spicy, but she hasn't figured out what yet. Maybe it'll help get Sokka out of his funk.]

I don't know. I doubt there's a clear-cut answer for that sort of thing. It really does depend on the circumstances and even then...I'd think anyone with a conscience would never feel at ease with such power. But I think that's a good thing; anyone completely at ease with the thought of overriding someone's will is a person I would never want to meet again.

[That's the way she feels too. Felt. But. She knows that Shikamaru and Ino are good people - she really, really believes it. But their powers...]

I think that makes sense. But... what if people who use that kind of power to help people have to use it a lot?

I would have to pity such people, since I can only imagine how that would affect them. But I'd think there would have to be some extraordinary circumstances to allow its use in the first place. What could possibly warrant needing to use them so often?

Perhaps, but that's the start of a slippery slope, isn't it? If it becomes okay to use this once, and then that situation happens again and again...where does it stop?

I don't know. [And she would really like to know.] I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out. If there is ever any good reason for a power like this - and what kind of people would feel the need to use it.
