[Sneeze and you break it filter to CR at around 4 am this morning.]

I'm back. I'm fine. I hope everyone's okay. Good night.

[So then Katara wakes up much, much later and will be just puttering around the house for a while for those who are inclined to catch her in serious conversation. She sends notes to Trafalgar and to Gelda to let them know that although she's back she feels like she needs to take a few days off... she's still very tired, and as of yet not feeling like being around people.

All that changes, however, on Wednesday. She needs to get out of the house, she needs to do something life-affirming and fun... and isn't it fortunate that she's been working on building several ~~insane~~ ~~monstrous~~ intense snow tracks for people to go sledding on? She decides to go check on them and to bring her journal with them.

Finding that their structural integrity hasn't been too damaged without constant maintenance and that the cold weather still holds... she decides that today is the day to show them off.]

Hey, everyone - I've been working on something the past few weeks and if you like sledding then... [She trails off and flips the journal over so that the journal feed will reveal three sledding tracks. She's made good use of all the snow in the past month or so, the clearing is very nearly bare of it - instead, there is the very large one, made completely of tunnels and requiring snow-cut stairs to ascend and once dared will necessitate a few on-the-walls themselves turns, there is the slightly less large one that seems to be composed mostly of sheer drops, and there is the normal-sized one that is essentially one long spiral down to ground level.] then grab your sleds. Don't worry, I've had a few people test them and they've held up just fine! It's south of the barracks, by the river.

[OOC: If anyone wants to come sledding, please do! Threadjacks of all sorts are welcome!

Also, if I could get those who attend the school, work in the clinics, or attend combat medicine lessons to give this a quick glance and offer input, that would be awesome! \o/!]

Aa... [Will they even want to bother after they get done talking? He did come out here for a reason, even if he wants to hang out too.]

Okay! [she beams at him.] Which would you like to do next?

[He stands up and nods his head over towards the spiral one.]

I'd like to try that one out. Wouldn't mind giving this one another go too.

All right! Let's go.

[So they might take more than a 'couple' turns on those. After thirty minutes, Shikamaru's tried all three courses at least one, and shocker of shockers to those who know him as a boring guy, enjoyed himself. Using chakra, he even figured out some cool tricks to do in the tunnel track.

Still not a huge fan of the cold, though, so he calls it good before too long.]

Haaa... that was cool.

[Katara is rosy-cheeked from the cold and the exercise, an she smiles at him, proud of the fact that he enjoyed himself on what she built.]

I'm glad you liked it.

[And she really, genuinely is.]

[He flashes a grin. Similarly, he's glad that she's had a good time too. He knows how she doesn't usually take the aftermath of drafts as well as some. Same probably goes for the mission she got back from.

So that she could have fun like this is definitely a good thing.]

They gonna be around for a while?

I'll leave them up until they're not safe anymore. So I guess it just depends how long the cold lasts.

[It's more than just a little fun. This kind of thing... it's a positive affirmation that her bending is for more than just taking lives. It can build something too.]

They probably still got some life left in them for a while, in that case. Maybe I'll come back in a few days and give 'em another run.

You might need to bring your own sled. [A grin.] But you should feel free.

Looks like the place caught a break now, though.

[There were several other people here earlier - still one or two lingering around. But it seems the majority of them have finished for now as well.]

[She glances up at the sky.] It's starting to get late, and they've been here for a while. Sledding tends to make people hungry.

[He nearly makes a comment about needing to carry around more snacks, but that reminds him of Chouji.]

Tch. And cold. [That he doesn't turn to encourage them to go himself is probably a sign that he has stuff he wants to talk about.] Of course, you wouldn't mind it.

Not really. But this isn't really that cold. It's more like fall or spring than winter.

[She glances at him.]

But are you cold?

No, I was only making an observation.

[Some dry sarcasm for you.]

Do you want to head back?

[Or maybe she'll just stick around and go sledding while you go where it's warm...]

I will in a bit. [Relaxed pose here, as he leans by that tree from earlier.]

We should probably talk about some things before I go. Unless you're not up for it. [There's no hesitancy in the way he says that, but it's not an afterthought either. She can probably guess what he wants to talk about, but it might not be something she wants to get into.] It won't hurt my feelings any if you're not right now.

[She frowns a little.]

No, we can talk about it. I'm fine. [Of course she is. She's just not sure if this is about that ninja or if it's about something else] But if you're cold, then we should go somewhere else.

[There's not really enough snow to make a shelter here anymore, it's all gone into the sled tracks.]

[Well, he won't complain about that.]

Wanna get something warm to drink?

Sure, if you like. I could use some hot chocolate.

Awesome. [Pushing away from the tree with a small smile.] Lead the way.

[Which would seem to make the whole ''getting a drink'' think solely on her shoulders, work-wise. But it's not like she minds doing the work either.
