[So then Katara wakes up much, much later and will be just puttering around the house for a while for those who are inclined to catch her in serious conversation. She sends notes to Trafalgar and to Gelda to let them know that although she's back she feels like she needs to take a few days off... she's still very tired, and as of yet not feeling like being around people.

All that changes, however, on Wednesday. She needs to get out of the house, she needs to do something life-affirming and fun... and isn't it fortunate that she's been working on building several ~~insane~~ ~~monstrous~~ intense snow tracks for people to go sledding on? She decides to go check on them and to bring her journal with them.

Finding that their structural integrity hasn't been too damaged without constant maintenance and that the cold weather still holds... she decides that today is the day to show them off.]

Hey, everyone - I've been working on something the past few weeks and if you like sledding then... [She trails off and flips the journal over so that the journal feed will reveal three sledding tracks. She's made good use of all the snow in the past month or so, the clearing is very nearly bare of it - instead, there is the very large one, made completely of tunnels and requiring snow-cut stairs to ascend and once dared will necessitate a few on-the-walls themselves turns, there is the slightly less large one that seems to be composed mostly of sheer drops, and there is the normal-sized one that is essentially one long spiral down to ground level.] then grab your sleds. Don't worry, I've had a few people test them and they've held up just fine! It's south of the barracks, by the river.

[OOC: If anyone wants to come sledding, please do! Threadjacks of all sorts are welcome!

Also, if I could get those who attend the school, work in the clinics, or attend combat medicine lessons to give this a quick glance and offer input, that would be awesome! \o/!]

[ There is a pause as he realizes he has been so caught up by excitement at the idea of sledding he hasn't properly met this lovely young woman. ]

My name is Ryoji Mochizuki, by the way.

I'm Katara! It's nice to meet you, Ryoji. [Smile!] And if you want to bring a few extra, that would be great - but I don't know how many people will show up here, and it wouldn't be fair to take all of them in case someone wants to go sledding somewhere else.

It's nice to meet a girl as lovely as you, too, Katara-chan! [ And more smiling right back. ]

All right. I'll see what they have, and I'll be there soon. I'm so excited!

[ And with that he waves and then clicks off.

Some time later, he shows up at the sledding area carrying two sleds! The item shop had had a stack of them, but Ryoji was mindful of Katara's words and thus only had the two. And now that he's here, he comes bouncing over, clearly still just as excited as before. He's not dressed super warmly, though at least he has his scarf and thought to put on gloves, but he doesn't seem too bothered by the cold.

When he catches sight of Katara, he grins and shifts one of the sleds enough to give a bit of a wave. ]

Hey, Katara-chan~ Wow, in person you're even more dazzling than the snow!

[ Yeah, he does this with just about every girl, but he really does mean it! ]

["--Katara-chan."

Wait, what?]

[She replays that whole thing in her head for a moment and thinks of Sanji and Masaomi and even Michael who's gone home and--

Not another one.]

[Katara's just supervising at the moment, watching someone else go up a sled track, but she turns at the sound of Ryoji's voice and... yup.

Definitely another one.

She's sorry she's a bit worn thin on this area of responding to what she views as gratuitous flattery, but she's had cause recently. Have a wry, almost pained smile at that greeting, as she proceeds to disregard any truth that could be in that statement.]

Thank you, Ryoji. That's kind of you to say. But please, call me Katara.

[ Sorry, Katara. This village is full of flirts, apparently!

But Ryoji smiles and nods, completely amenable to whatever she wishes to be called. ]

Well then, Katara, where would you like me to put the extra sled? The item shop had a whole pile, but I didn't think I could carry more...

You can just stack it up against one of the trees! It won't be in anyone's way over there.

[Not that there are too many people here now, but hey, you never know.]

[ He does so before bouncing back. ]

You start by just sliding down, right? I've never gone sledding before. I've just seen it in pictures and things... But I saw the tracks when I was climbing up here, and it looks like a lot of fun!

Yeah, that's right! It's really easy. Which would you like to try first?

Well, since it's your first time maybe you should start with the smaller one?

That's -- probably a good idea. [ He laughs. ] Is there anything I need to keep in mind besides just hang on?

Keep your hands and feet inside the sled. Other than that, just lay down on it. Gravity does all the work.

Oh, this looks like so much fun! Thank you, Katara! [ Before he goes, though, he has to ask... ] Are you going to come sledding, too?

[She grins.]

Oh, definitely.

Then let's go! [ He beams back and picks up his sled again, gesturing towards the slopes. Clearly he shouldn't be the only one having fun right away! ]
