[Somewhere in all the excitement of the past month, it... sort of didn't occur to her that she's now been in Luceti for two years. That's had some time to sink in now, along with the new announcement and - home. Actually getting to go home. Even if it's just for a day...

...but then it means that the Malnosso were lying to them, doesn't it. They do have the power to send them home. And all this time, they'd said it was random...]

Hey. I think that I just... wanted to apologize. I know that when I got here two years ago, I wasn't very respectful about all the things everyone had tried to do in order to get out of here. It must have been so hard to hear that then, and to keep hearing it from every New Feather that we get when we know that we've tried everything we could.

But we have to keep trying. What they're doing, no matter what they say, no matter what they promise us, is wrong. We can't give up hope that we'll find a way out - we have to keep looking. There's a difference between waiting and giving up, and I know it's hard, but so many of you are still doing that, still trying to find a way out while making things as comfortable as you can for all the new people who are stuck here as we are, and I admire that so much.

And hey, if anyone was using the sled tracks I made, I haven't had a chance to check on them since the ice storm. I'll probably be decommissioning them tomorrow and just turning it all into a giant snow hill, so if you go out there, please be careful, all right?

[Thursday is one of the days Katara goes to spar with Nami, so after making this announcement after school, she and Nami will meet up by the river to do battle with their staffs. Feel free to stop by and watch these two sexy ladies practicing, if you like.

If not, after dinner, Katara heads off someplace she very rarely is. The remembrance garden. This place has always made her uncomfortable... she's not sure it's right, but it's... something. Better than those things that reminded her of gravestones. And the perfect place to pour over her journal, flipping back until she finds an entry of Aang. It's been so long since she's seen him... she's all but forgotten what he sounds like. She feels almost bad about it, but... she misses him so much and yet... it's easier not to miss him.

And eventually, when her time in the remembrance garden is done, Katara will return to her house for an hour or two of bending practice in the back yard.]

It's warming up, yeah.

It'll be nice when the flowers start coming up properly, huh? [Sitting back, he brushes off his hands and gets to his feet.] And when the snow's gone.

It will be nice. [She smiles over at him.] I like the spring. But I enjoy the winter too. I love the snow.

[There are people who like it? Link looks briefly surprised before he remembers that not everyone has the same memories, and smiles again.] It was fun when I was younger, but I like plants and animals being around better.

[Katara shrugs.]

The snow reminds me of home. The rest is beautiful, but it's not the same.

Oh... does it snow a lot where you're from? [He smiles a little apologetically.] I grew up in the forest, so I guess I'm used to having lots of plants around.

Yeah. I grew up in the South Pole. It snows pretty much all the time.

The South Pole? [Link looks briefly surprised.] I learnt about that in school. I guess if it snowed all the time, you'd probably like it more! Was it ever warm?

It got warmer. [She shrugs.] We would sometimes get flowers in the summer.

Flowers are nice! [Says the kid in the garden.] They must be strong if they can handle the South Pole, though, right?

They didn't last very long. [Heh.] But they were beautiful.

Oh... but I bet that just makes them more special. If they were really common, people might not think much of them.

[Katara laughs a little at that.]

Like in the forest, huh?

I guess so! [A bit of a sheepish grin - that analogy did actually fall through a bit.] Although lots of flowers grow at different times of the year. So I guess there were those to look forward to, right?

Definitely. [She smiles a little wanly.] Sometimes things are just special because they remind you of home.

Yeah. [He exhales, fussing a little with the plantlife at his feet.] Although it's nice seeing other things, too. I've learnt a lot about things I wouldn't be able to learn in Hyrule, here.

That's true. There's a lot of time and a lot of things to learn in Luceti.

[If only it mattered for anything.]

[It matters if you don't intend to go back!]

Uh huh. I went to school for a year here, so I got to learn a lot about other worlds.

[...He's still leery about electricity, however.]

It is an interesting class, isn't it?

Uh huh. That's where I learnt what the poles were. I've never gone outside of Hyrule before coming here, or seen what it looks like from faraway. [...Huh. He assumes it's on a planet like other lands, but he's just never really thought about it like that...]

You didn't have a chance to travel much back home?

[A shake of the head.] I saw every bit of Hyrule! But I've never left it.

Well, maybe you'll have a chance when you get home someday.

[Briefly, he pulls a face - does he have to go back>? - but nods.] That might not be too bad.
