Yes, something like that. I'm not entirely sure what your waterbending would count as, but if I'd have to guess, I'd say it would be internal magic, seeing as from what I saw, weapons or objects aren't involved in your control over water. [At this point, she sighs.] Unfortunately, I'm a terrible teacher. If Mirajane was here, she'd be able to help with teaching you shapeshifting; it's her specialty, and she's got more of the personality for it. Theoretically, I'd think you'd be able to shapeshift an entire building, though it would take a lot out of you.

However, I know that there's a person named Terra who lives around here. She doesn't seem as limited in terms of magic as I am, since she can use several unrelated types; maybe she would be more useful as far as what you're looking for.

Oh, wow, really? That would be amazing. But... wouldn't I have to be from your world to learn magic?

I met Terra once before. Maybe I'll ask her too...

Because what I really want to know is how to defend myself against it. I saw someone fight using magic and... it wasn't like anything I'd ever seen before. And he destroyed a friend of mine's room... and these houses just don't seem very secure against that kind of attack.

I'd think that, if bending is similar to my world's magic, it could be possible for you to learn it. It would be worth a shot, at least.

What kind of magic does this person use, mainly? Most types of magic have some form of weakness, whether it's elemental-based, some kind of time limit between uses of the attack, or simply breaking the concentration the mage while they're using it.

Well, I'd try anything if I thought it would help stay safe in this place.

I'm not sure - his name is Kefka. He could teleport and float around... he made this giant black ball appear on the ground and he even cast something on me. It didn't hurt but it was... weird.

With bending, you have to do a form in order to do anything major... it's like a dance. But I didn't see him do anything in order for that stuff to happen.

Kefka... I've heard about him, and none of what I've heard has been good. From what I understand about his world's magic, you aren't necessarily limited to one specific type, which makes finding weaknesses difficult. However, there are people from his world who are here, though I only know of two: General Leo Christophe and Terra. Maybe they can tell us some general weaknesses of their world's magic. [She wasn't aware that Leo had been taken home some time ago.]

I'd spoken with General Leo when I first got here - he was very kind. I haven't seen him around in a while, though. And I spoke with Terra once... if she'd be willing to talk about it, that would be great.

Hm... From what I've seen from one of the water-using mages back home, she tends to trap opponents in a bubble of water and keep them in it until they're unconscious. Are you able to do anything like that? I couldn't see it being very easy to counter.

[She nods.] I could do that - I'd just need an awful lot of water. ...and maybe if I froze the outside of it as well... or actually [just ice. Ice would work.]

Would that work... because people need to move or chant to do magic?
