[Action, Chickening Out Written, and Voice] .015
[What with Zuko's unexpected and somewhat... well, dubious bout of hopefully-it-will-be-win and please don't burn their house again, Katara has an unexpected bout of free time. This is both a good thing, and a bad thing, since with the craziness of her first few months dying down, Katara has started to feel homesickness pressing down on her. Couple that with Sokka's keeping secrets, his friendship with Ty Lee, and learning chi blocking, the extra time to think is not... exactly... happy.
So here she is, at the bridge by her house, standing at the arch and staring out over the water.]

[And then she shakes her head.] Nevermind. I'm just being silly.
But I guess that makes sense. [I mean, it wasn't the only reason I liked Jet... but his looks sure didn't hurt.]
[Action]
[There's a slight nod. He doesn't really care that much for those things... but he's a teenage boy. He'd be lying if he said he didn't notice.]
[Action] 1/2
...she'd never really worried about how she looked before. Why would she? The only person around her age was Sokka. And her mother dying left her with very little feminine pampering. Gran Gran just wasn't... like that.
And here she is, unable to do much with her bending, unable to do much to help the town, unable to do much to deal with friends getting hurt and enemies resurfacing...
...and she's got to wonder, for a moment, where her value is here and how she measures up.
And she almost feels the words forming in her brain to ask him - Am I-
But then the moment passes.]

Maybe, if she can get over what Longshot did... she can get over what Ty Lee did too.]
I guess it happens, right?

[There's an agreeable shrug - yeah, guess so. He takes the empty bag off from over his shoulder - he should probably be going now. There's a glance, as if to ask if she has anything else she needs to get off of her chest.]

[And she smiles warmly and stands.] Thanks again for listening. I really needed someone to talk to who I wouldn't have to explain things to, you know? [Her smile falters for a minute.] It's hard to keep doing that sometimes. There are some things words just don't say.
