[Action, Chickening Out Written, and Voice] .015

[What with Zuko's unexpected and somewhat... well, dubious bout of hopefully-it-will-be-win and please don't burn their house again, Katara has an unexpected bout of free time. This is both a good thing, and a bad thing, since with the craziness of her first few months dying down, Katara has started to feel homesickness pressing down on her. Couple that with Sokka's keeping secrets, his friendship with Ty Lee, and learning chi blocking, the extra time to think is not... exactly... happy.

So here she is, at the bridge by her house, standing at the arch and staring out over the water.]

[Filtered to Ginko 70 percent]

Ginko, have you ever-

Is there a time where

I need

[No. It wasn't fair to bring anyone into this. She'd figure it out the same way she always did.]

[Voice: Filtered away from Zuko, 70%]

~~So... has anyone else noticed anything strange going on tonight? There isn't a new experiment going on, is there?~~

[And pretty much immediately after this comment Katara is going to find a way to erase this voice post if it kills her. She didn't mean to upset anyone! It was just - so weird.]

[...And sometime after dinner, she'll be returning to her practicing routine outside of the house, in case she's due for a talking to ~~you know who you are~~.]

[Oh no - not water bubbles! Katara doesn't immediately notice those sneaky, sneaky bubbles headed in her direction from behind. And they score a direct hit! One to the cheek, ka-pow!] What the -

[And she turns her head, right into another bubble that pops on her nose. Blinking owlishly, Katara bats away the next bubble, spots their source, and starts laughing.] Hey, Luffy!

Hi, Katara!

[Waves! He's looking really... well fat as he walks over. Why yes, he swallowed a barrel of water]

Are you training?

[...wtf happened to you dude.] Yes, I was.

...What... happened to you? Are you all right?

Yeah, I'm fine!

Uraaaah!

[Some of the water starts trying to rush out of his mouth but he holds it back with his hand. Yeah, a normal person isn't supposed to drink this much, rubber or not.]

[He manages to hold it back though and just burps. Phew.]

I came to help you train!

[She can't help but laugh.] That's... kind of you, Luffy, but--

[But... seriously?] But it looks like you're about ready to fall over.

It's okay, I did this one time before! Just call me...

MIZU LUFFY! [Mizu means water in Japanese]

[So, so skeptical.] Well, all right.

[She slides into a ready stance but still - can't quite believe she's doing this.] What have you got in mind?

You can control water right, so all you gotta do is not get hit by any of my water attacks!

[And Katara grins, some of the stress rolling right off her shoulders. Actual water attacks? You might have just made her night, Luffy.]

Bring it.

[That's more like it!]

Heh! [And then you might notice him flailing his arms up and down. This might look kind of silly but he's actually pumping the water into his mouth]

Mizu Mizu no Pistol!! [And those water bubbles from before? He's shooting them at her from his mouth and they're a lot bigger this time. =Dd]

[Yup, that does look silly. But she doesn't relax her stance and when those bubbles start pouring out of his mouth - she can't help but laugh just a little. But bubbles are tricky - and fast - harder to manipulate since they're full of air. Not so much, then, when she turns them to ice spikes and drives them into the ground, hard. They form a pattern between them, but are stopped at least a foot away from her. She grins.]

That all you've got?

[Man, she's really good. It might not seem like it? But he's doing this partly to test out her abilities. He's never seen them in action before, and it'll probably be good for later reference.]

Mizu Mizu no!!! [And he just inhales deeply while flailing his arms. Once he exhales a giant water bubble starts to form] GIGANT PISTOL! [And that thing is heading right towards you Katara. You'd think that would be ALL you had to deal with, but soon after he starts to pump water again]

Mizu Mizu no RIFLE! [And this time it's not going to be a bubble, but rather a stream of water being fired from his mouth. Think maybe a water gun except like times ten. It goes right through the bubble and straight at Katara, but be careful. Some of the water from the bubble popping might get on you too.]

[She... kinda figured that out, and kinda doesn't care, because it's so good to be fighting against something she can control again. Besides, she counts Luffy as a friend.

But that doesn't mean she's going to let him win. The different targets of water make it a little bit more complicated than dealing with a giant stream, but she's been working on her control since getting to Luceti so Katara has no problem executing a form to take control and stop the water just like this.

She holds it there for a moment, and then takes the bubbles and the loose water and turns it into one solid mass of water between them. And smirks. Then she streams the water behind her - not letting it touch her body but hovering over her arms.] Not bad! [Grin.] But you've got to do better.

[Oh fien Katara! If that's how you want it!]

Mizu Mizu no Rifle!! [He fires another powerful stream of water at Katara before running towards her before doing a spinning sommersault over her head]

Mizu Mizu no Pistol! [Have a tornado of water bubbles coming down at you before he lands one your other side.]

[That water stream is met with the water she's collected above her arms, and she incorporates that water into her hold--

--but Luffy is fast and that was unexpected. Fortunately he calls out his attacks, but she's still not quite fast enough in bringing the water she's just collected over her head to just stand there -- Katara quickly moves to the side, just in time to escape the few bubbles that make it through before her shield is in place.

And then she shifts to face Luffy again - it's weird not to follow through and attack, but that hadn't been part of the rules.] OK. [And she drops some of that water to the ground, preferring to keep her hold light and mobile with her power constraints. The rest of the water remains in a stream at her side. Grinning:] That was better.

...I thought I was gonna get you with that.

[He starts flailing his arms again. Geez he needs to think up a way to distract her with water longer enough so she can get hit by... water. Shut up.]

[She laughs.] You never said I had to stand still!

[And then she eyes him. She's still not completely sure this is healthy.] How are you doing there? Got enough water left?

I got enough!

Mizu Mizu no Gigant Pistol! [A giant bubble starts to form like before and he sends it at her except this time it goes above her head.]

Mizu Mizu no RIFLE! [This time when he uses the move, he uses it to pop the giant bubble, causing a rainfall of water to come down at her. But, as soon as it starts to rain Katara might notice Luffy is circling around her, now going at full non-Gear Second speed]

Mizu Mizu no PISTOL! [As he's circling her, he's going to be blowing out a constant stream of bubbles in her direction! He's using just about every little supply of water he has left at this point]

[That first attack has her swinging up the water at her side and making a shield like an umbrella above her head--

--Holy crap he's fast! Katara quickly absorbs the falling water into one giant stream and has to actually check herself from making an ice slide right in front of Luffy, because that is not part of the training.

Fortunately, though, it appears that the bubbles are traveling at the same speed. ~~And if I am wrong, tell me!~~ So she has time to bring that water from above all around her and move into the octopus form. The tendrils shoot up all around her, and she uses them to block the incoming bubbles. Do some of them make it through anyway?]

[Nope, she blocks all of them! After she does Luffy just stands there grinning. She really is strong if she was able to keep up with him like that.]

I'm out!

[And so she can't resist showing off a little - she just directs the rest of the water over towards the forest area in a large stream before flexing her fingers once and turning itinto mist. It will have a chance to spread to more of the forest that way... or something.

Then she turns and looks at Luffy and he is... back to normal. That's... so weird.]

[She grins.] That was fun, Luffy!
