[She doesn't understand why Sokka likes hacking filters so much. Her attempts so far have been met with nothing good. After looking at Ty Lee and Sokka's conversation yesterday... Katara has come to some conclusions. But that's far from the only thing that needs to be dealt with today, and so she takes out her journal to make some posts.]

I hope everyone is okay after yesterday. The houses should be back in order, but... if anyone needs any help moving things around or getting new furniture, there should be a bunch of us who'll be around to help. Just let me know and I'll try to get something organized, okay? We're all in this together, after all.

I know you hacked this, Sokka. And leaving off just how wrong this still is - don't worry. I just want to talk to her.

[And after this post, Katara can be found slicing the five trees around her house into manageable sized bits of lumber, responding to journal entries, and eventually wandering around to where ever Ty Lee says that she'd like to meet.]

[Sorry Katara, can't hear you over the sounds of being unspeakably awesome. Also the chainsaw. He moves on up to the wood and starts cutting through it like a knife through butter. Only louder, slower, and with bits of wood flying everywhere. Good thing he put his safety goggles on, huh?]

[Katara covers her ears with her hands. She doesn't know what he's doing, but it's kind of scary and she is not going to be loud and distracting right now because that. Is. Insane.]

[Once he's cut through the tree, he pulls the chainsaw back and lets it die down and turns back to her with a self-satisfied smirk.]

What was that about Roku and Zuko again?

You're right. It looks like you've got it all under control.

[And then she will turn and start walking towards the house.]

[She doesn't turn around an just waves a hand, still heading towards the house.] Oh, but you think you don't need any extra help. You've got it all under control with that loud - thing.

It's a chainsaw and fine, I can use some help. [He's just not useless, that's all.]

[Katara pauses and looks back at him - why is he acting all weird?]

Fine, I'll go back to the other one. [She makes a face.] You don't have anything to block the sound of that thing, do you?

Yeah, I think I've got something. Just a second. [He puts the chainsaw down and heads back into the house where he keeps his tools. He has just the thing.]

[Oh good. While you're gone, Katara will just... go over and eye the chainsaw warily. Does she pick it up? Yes, of course she does. Awkwardly.

Does she have any idea what she's doing? No, not at all.]

[Sokka will watch cautiously after he gets back. He doesn't make it obvious he's back, because he wants to see what she'll do.]

[Huh. So, keeping her hands away from the blade is a good thing - it's easy to tell that it functioned a little like the wheels of those tanks she'd taken down when they attacked the Northern Air Temple, but...

...hmm. She pulls the chord. Nothing happens. Maybe there is a safety switch of some kind? Hmm... Letting the tip of it drop a bit now so that she can study the handle.]

[Well, as near as he can tell, she isn't being reckless at least. Otherwise he would have to step in. But if she wants to think he's still gone and try to start it on her own, she's more than welcome.]

[OK, so - there was a red switch. What happened if she flicked that and then pulled the chord?]

[LOUD NOISE, THAT'S WHAT. And now the thing in her hands is vibrating and it's loud and it's shaking her arms-- she tries to lift it up and it starts to spin her a little.]

[OK, stance. Get in her stance - steady, that's good - but don't let go of the moving blades! Gah!]

So-kkaaaa!

[And he'll yell over the blade, keeping his distance for the moment.]

Calm down! It's okay! Don't move!

I'm not moving! It's moving me!! [Stupid... heavy... chainsaw. She's not shaking anymore, but she's too scared to take one hand off the thing to shut it off. That switch probably does it.]

Turn it off!

[Okay, she's not spinning around violently with it. So Sokka slides in behind her and switches it off, the chainsaw soon dying out completely in her hands.]

There, no harm done.

GaaaaAAAAAAaaaaah. [She stares at the thing and makes sure it's not going to go off again before setting it slowly down and backing two steps away. Scary. Do not want.]

[He glances over at her, well. She actually handled that pretty good. He hands her over a pair of noise canceling earmuffs.]

Well you handled that well. [And he means it! His first time using that chainsaw, when he found it, he dropped it and nearly lost a foot.]

[Eeeeeesh.] That thing is crazy!

Yeah. You have to use the proper equipment. Goggles and gloves! Fortunately you weren't actually using it do anything. [He goes to pick up the chainsaw himself. Yeah, reeal power. Hruh hruh hruh!]

[~~Sokka the Tool Man Taylor?~~] I saw the way it was spewing out wood like that -- how long have you been working with one of those things?
