[The past few days have been good for Katara. The happy from mending her rift with Sanji hasn't faded, rather it has turned into a sort of muted contentment and being outside and with good company was good for the soul.

Of course, not everyone was having such a good time... but she couldn't really blame Caesar for that, considering the way he'd shown up. Everyone else seemed to be... mostly getting along. And it was so nice to be doing that which felt a little bit more familiar.

Not to mention the fact that she's been able to spend so much time in and around the water. Just now, she was taking a swim after dinner. It was so good to be so close to so much water again - just feel it on her senses, tugging at her awareness. It was almost like home, but in a way that made her happy instead of sad - because she refused to be sad as long as she had a choice about it.

Getting up, she wrings the water out of her hair and bends the rest off before making her way towards her journal.

[He offers a small shrug.] I don't know. I thought I saw her in the corner of my eye... when I looked, there was nothing. About a week ago, I heard a voice in one of the stores. It sounded like dad... but the store was empty.

[He nods in agreement. He had been content to think he was just feeling guilty, but if Katara heard their mom...]

Think it's the Malnosso messing with our heads again?

I don't know. I guess we could ask around, and see if it's happened to other people too, or it it was just us.

How long do the experiments usually last? I've only been hear for two, even though it's nearly four months now... and there haven't been any New Feather's this month either. I don't know. Maybe something's changing.

You know, things were a lot different when I first showed up. There was a routine. People showed up in the beginning of the month, second half of the month something weird would happen. But lately people arrive all month long or not at all. They had that draft, there's electricity now... but there's been all kinds of attacks on the villages from people trapped here with us.

Six months ago, Luceti didn't seem that terrible of a place. Now it's just a pain all the time.
