[After doing everything she could at home to deal with the fact that Zuko was gone, Katara headed out to the lake where she proceeded to bend and cry until she was exhausted. The storm feels good. She made her weary way back to the house with something of a headache, but she didn't think much of it. So what if the lights hurt her eyes? That was normal after so much crying and rage, right?
She fell into a deep, exhausted sleep as soon as she hit the bed. When morning light first entered her room, Katara shifted uneasily. Soon enough she opens her eyes to start the day - and screams. This was beyond a headache, it was like a screaming in her eye, a shooting pain, a burning.
Katara immediately slaps both hands over her eyes and sways back and forth a little to comfort and distract herself from the pain. After a moment of panicked breathing, her adrenaline kicks in and Katara shifts one hand to cover her eyes and fumbles for her journal with the other. Filtering is hopeless right now, even if it had occurred to her, although she'd much rather keep this private. Her voice is scared and filled with suppressed quivering.]
Ginko? I think something's wrong.
[And with that, she clings on to the journal and hopes that someone answers her soon. She can't see anything and it hurts.]

Re: [Voice]
[Voice]
But. Well. Ginko was coming.
And hopefully... hopefully...
It will be okay.]
Sure. That would be fine.
[And hopefully, her voice is steady and without the slightest hint of fear.]
[Voice --> Action]
... It's been a while since he's visited their house, he notes, and knocks on the door rather than barging in]
[Action]
[Action]
He'll keep his expression neutral and his tone to the point. No need in prolonging this]
Katara-chan invited me over for a little while.
[Action]
Fine. I'm getting food. [No, you're not invited to stay and cook. He steps aside so Sanji can walk in.]
[Action]
And then the moment passes when he remembers how Sokka acted. On second thought, there's nothing to discuss. Sanji steps through and without another word goes to find Katara.
He can find her on his own.]
[Action]
He'll leave Sanji to it and go out the door, closing it behind him.]
[Action]
Her thoughts are not good company. She hears someone at the door and calls out.]
Hello?
[Action]
Alright if I come in?
[Action]
[He will notice when he gets in there that the room is... somewhat sparce. The floor has been redone in stone, and there is a thick rug by the bed. There are curtains on the windows, a lighter shade of blue than the rest of her room, and the only other furniture in the room is a small wooden vanity with a cushioned bench. The only thing on that vanity is a hairbrush and the knife that Sokka made for her. Her waterskin is hanging from her bed behind her.
She shifts a little over to make room for him to sit on the bed, or he can feel free to pull out the stool. Having visitors while she can't see is - more than a little awkward and embarrassing, but she can respect the fact that he wants to check in on her.]
[Action]
He'll... ask questions later. For now he goes ahead and seats himself on the bed, since she was kind enough to make room for him. And then blatantly peers at her in worry while keeping his tone light]
So Ginko got here already - good. Feel any better?
[Action]
And then he asks that question and her hand fists in the comforter. She speaks quietly.] Um. Not really. But he said that the medicine doesn't always work. There's something else he can try, in case.
[And while she doesn't actually cry, the thought of the medicine not working and having to stay like this, incapacitated by pain and useless - she'd put her own eyes out first. And it's a good thing that he can't see the hot tears that swell up, but do not fall, behind the compress.]
[Action]
But Ginko's not one to mince words - he probably wanted her to be prepared for a potentially long and rough night.]
At least there's that. It'll be alright. [He says this firmly, tone unusually insistent] Ginko will help. He'd already cured me.
[Action]
He cured you? What do you mean? Are you all right?
[And she can't see, darn it, but she'll be struggling to sit up and one hand flails out to try to make contact with Sanji's arm.]
[Action]
I'm fine now. But turns out even the flowers here are dangerous. [Damn, but that had been embarrassing]
[Action]
The flowers? What happened? Did they trap you somehow?
[Because she can think of a certain swamp...]
[Action]
Ahah, you could say that. [Oh, how sheepish he sounds] I found some pink flowers growing in the forest and planned to bring a few back for Nami-san. After I smelled one, well... [another pause, thicker than the last]
To be honest, I don't remember much. Vash found me at some point -- [which is said with a dash of guilt that he tries to bite back] -- and there was the sensation of flying into the village.
[Action]
You don't - remember anything else?
[Action]
[pausing again. That he doesn't remember anything is only part of the problem, but he's not sure he wants to weigh Katara's mind with any--
Oh hell, she'd find out somehow even if he pointed avoided the issue. Instinctively.]
I was going at a different pace than everyone else. A few minutes felt like weeks suddenly.
[Action]
[Pause.] But I don't think the spirits of my world have much to do with this place.
[It's almost an uncharacteristically negative statement - except she doesn't look at it that way, as much as she does with just - a sharp delineation of fact.]
[Action]
... The entire time it felt like I was rushing to my death. [And leaving everyone behind him. He hated that more than anything, and it might be audible in his somber tone. This is a strange way to realize how deep an impression it left. He momentarily feels bad about bringing this up. Okay topic change!]
But you've heard of it, huh? I don't suppose your spirit world has anything to do with mushi.
[Action]
You're not a mushi. It had no right to do that - to bind its life to yours.
[Anger is so much more comfortable than fear - and after a moment she says:] No - I don't think mushi are like spirits. Spirits have a purpose, and they interact with the world and with people for that reason. Mushi are more like animals. Part of the world - but not like us.
[Action]
Maaah... It's not an experience I'm eager to try again. I think I scared Nami-san.
[He will... not bring up Ginko drugging him so he'd stay still]
.... Katara-chan, can you see them? [he never got a chance to ask]
[Action]
Really, it's a miracle that she manages to catch those words before they leave her mouth, but swallowing them leaves a bitter taste.
She's so scared, and she hates the reminder of it.]
No - I can't see them. Roku can, though.
