[For no very specific reason at all, Katara is happy this late afternoon. The air is getting colder, and the very fact that it's nipping at her face is enough to make her smile. Add to that the glorious storm of yesterday, that it is still drizzling...

It's started drizzling as she runs her errands in town, and she puts a hand up to bend an 'umbrella' above her head as she walks along. She forgets herself, though, as she comes to some large puddles in the road, and dropping her hand, stares at them for half a beat.

Well, she's already wet.

So she jumps in. Not bending at all, simply splashing about in the puddles along her way.

Feel free to catch her in this rare display of immaturity and glee - or even join her! Hopefully she won't catch a cold.

Much later, as she prepares dinner for her house, she makes a voice post.]

I think it's more of a legend. And he isn't here in Luceti... it's just celebrating his birthday, is all.

What kind of horrible person would kill you if you didn't celebrate his birthday!? That's a terrible holiday!

Actually, if you don't pay attention to that part, it was actually pretty fun. If we're still here, we should do it anyway.

What? No way! How could you even think that! I would never celebrate such a terrible person's birthday. And you shouldn't either!

[Sokka just sighs and shakes his head.]

It's not a big deal. It's just giving presents to each other. Who cares what the reason is?

Are you kidding me? Of course the reason matters! You'd be honoring a mass-murderer!

You know, I may be wrong about who did the slaying. Maybe he stopped it? I really didn't give it much thought at the time.

Well, don't you think you should find out? Whether he killed them or whether he saved them is kind of a big difference.

Hey, in my defense, I was still new here. And a few days before that, the ENTIRE village lost three days of their memories. It wasn't important at the time.

[Somewhat grudgingly:] I guess I can see that. At least we can ask if we're still here.

Why are you in such a good mood, anyway?

[Katara shrugs.] Do I need a reason?

Generally speaking, yes. [He's so used to Katara being MISERABLE and moderately happy around here. What is this?]

Well, I don't have one. I'm just happy, that's all.

[Nothing bad has happened in a while, Aang's here, Appa's here, Zuko's here, Suki's here... and nothing bad has happened in a while. Plus, winter's coming. And she's met some... interesting new people. Not to mention - nothing bad's happened in a while. But it's not like she is going to tempt fate and say that. So she'll just be turning to go inside now.]

Fine. [Sisters, yeesh. He watches the rain for a little longer, before ultimately following after her.]

Hey, what's for dinner?

[Katara is in the process of unpacking groceries at this very moment! We see meet - sausages - and vegetables. And more noodles. And more vegetables.]

Probably sausage, peppers, and spicy noodles with vegetables. It feels like a good day for something warm. Unless I make soup...

[Sokka shakes his head at all these groceries.]

Seriously, Aang and his vegetables. He wouldn't have lasted a week in the South Pole.

He'd have just had to get used to eating sea prunes, that's all. [She continues unloading the groceries and getting out what's needed to make dinner, completely unfazed. ~~It's not natural~~.]

I've become convinced Aang doesn't actually like Sea Prunes. [... or anyone for that matter. Of course, but now, that's fairly obvious. Sokka rather enjoys playing ignorant to it.]

[She shrugs.] We'll figure something out, if he comes back to stay with us after the war's over.

[He considers that.] Do you think he actually would?

[She's not looking at you now, gaze concentrating on preparing these vegetables.] What else is he going to do? We're his family now.

I know that the world will need him, and he probably won't be able to stay for very long... but everyone needs someplace they can call home. And we'll have always something ready for him.

Yeah, that's true. [Ah, right. Way to kill the mood. Change of subject, he turns around and leans up against the counter, staring off into the living area.]

So... a certain bearded individual heard something about this great guy.
