[For no very specific reason at all, Katara is happy this late afternoon. The air is getting colder, and the very fact that it's nipping at her face is enough to make her smile. Add to that the glorious storm of yesterday, that it is still drizzling...

It's started drizzling as she runs her errands in town, and she puts a hand up to bend an 'umbrella' above her head as she walks along. She forgets herself, though, as she comes to some large puddles in the road, and dropping her hand, stares at them for half a beat.

Well, she's already wet.

So she jumps in. Not bending at all, simply splashing about in the puddles along her way.

Feel free to catch her in this rare display of immaturity and glee - or even join her! Hopefully she won't catch a cold.

Much later, as she prepares dinner for her house, she makes a voice post.]

[The rain is a welcome change from the thunderstorm yesterday. It's why Naoki doesn't mind going out--he needs to stretch his legs anyway. Lacking in a shirt, as per usual, but he does have an umbrella over his head.

He's wandering in the direction she's in, blinking ahead when he sees the splashing. Then grinning.]

Doesn't that look like fun.

[Gah, what in the what?!]

[Oh, it's just Naoki.]

[And then she grins, sticking her chin up.] Yeah, it is. Wanna try?

[He blinks a few times before laughing and grinning, shifting to close up the umbrella. Not gonna be needing that if he's going to be getting wet splashing in puddles anyway.]

Sure, why not!

[He's just a big kid, after all.]

[Yey! So much less embarrassing this way.

She waits for him to join her before splashing about some more.]

[Derp de derp splashin' time.]

Doing well today, Katara?

[Grinning over at her.]

[Katara sticks her nose up in the air, splashing merrily.] I was just on my way to the grocery store.

[The grin twitching at the corner of her mouth, though, reveals that she knows she's being ridiculous.]

[Naoki laughs again, splashing right along with her.]

You too, huh? I was going to go yesterday, but the storm.

More like, me again. [Three hungry teenage boys and two active teenage girls in a house means... a lot of trips to the grocery store.]

[Oops. Did that splash land dangerously close to you, Naoki?

...totally an accident. >>]

So do you end up doing it a lot? I kinda do it mostly, t--

[Pausing. Yes. That splash was mighty close. Doot doot, splashing a bit himself...and it might be a little close, too. WHOOPS.]

[Katara attempts to surpress her laughter and be stern. It... sort of works. Kinda.] Hey! Watch where you're splashing!

[>> /SPLASH. And that is a non-bending enhanced splash definitely headed in Naoki's direction.]

[Naoki squawks a little at the splash and laughs. Not like he wasn't wet already...]

Watch where you're splashing, too! [Splashin' right back. 8|]

[Oh, direct hit! Griiiiiiin.]

I don't know why I should! You're already wet.

[And totally dressed for swimming, too. Dude, do you just never wear a shirt?

And Katara jumps right by you, Naoki. That splash will have a nice high range.]

[Yep. He never wears a shirt. |D]

I don't wanna get wetter, though!

[...kinda silly saying it at this point, but eh. Also, jumping away from that splash with another little squawk and sending one right back.]

[Eeek! Dirty puddle water. She puts a hand out to stop it from splashing her ineffectually, still not bending. And then she grins.]

Then maybe you should quit splashing!

[And on that word, she kicks some more water towards him. She is not bending, but even though her will is tightly contained, the water responds slightly more than normal to the motion and the splash has good lift.]

[Hi, puddle water. Totally going over his head now, leaving him spluttering and shaking his head furiously like a wet dog. Don't mind some water spraying in your direction, Katara.]

[Ffffff. Oops. She backs up away from the spray, her nose wrinkling at it.]

I can take care of that for you, if you like.

[Blinking through sopping hair.]

Ah, can you?

[She laughs a little.] Yeah.

[And lifting her arms in a circular, waving motion, Katara bends Naoki completely dry, still dripping wet herself. ...of course, she's not keeping the rain off him, so the top of his head is immediately dampened again.]

[Naoki looks impressed at that, lifting his umbrella now to ward off the rain from his hair. He combs a hand through it to shake the water out.]

That really seems to come in handy.

[She grins, sweeping her hair to the side to wring it out. She's not ready to stop being wet yet - it just feels good to be so surrounded by her element, on some base level she can't explain, and isn't completely consciously aware of - but the dripping down her back is getting kind of annoying.]

I think so, yeah.

[She loves her bending, man.]

[Naoki tilts his head now to look out from under the brim of the umbrella at the sky, watching the rain.]

It's really after raining a bit, huh? And yesterday was...

[He hums and stops there. He didn't like that storm.]
