[If you are passing by the Southmost bridge at just the right time, you will find it hard not to notice the girl in an unusual dress and boots facedown on the ground. One shoulder is strangely disjointed, and there are bruises up and down her arms, particularly violent ones around her wrists. She looks like nothing more than a broken and discarded doll.

As the sun continues to set, the coolness in the ground will cause her to start to stir. When she sits up, she grimaces, moving as if there might be something wrong with her ribs. If you happen to be looking at her as she does, you'll notice the sickening blue and yellow bruise spread across her right collarbone, the lovely shiner on her eye.

The wonderful thing about Luceti? Sometimes there's a journal right where you need it. She barely has enough presence of mind to make sure the picture points away from her face, but her voice is very tired.]

Sokka, Aang - I'm back. [Sorry Suki, Zuko.] I'm okay.

Hey guys, if you're there - I could use a little help.

[She doesn't want her brother and Aang to see her like this.]

[She smiles and - ow. Her lip's cracked. It starts to bleed again.]

Yeah, it's me. I'm okay, I'm just - a little beat up.

Where are you? [More quietly:] And how bad is it?

[The sound of controlled breathing for a moment as she looks around...]

It's not that bad. I'm by one of the bridges... I can probably walk into town.

No, don't move. [He's memorized Katara's scent by now, and there's only a few bridges in Luceti. No sense in making her meet him halfway when it shouldn't be too hard to find her.] I'm on my way, okay?

[Right, not moving. But... helpless out here. Hurting. She doesn't like it.]

Okay. Thanks, Chopper.

[Please hurry.]

[It takes some time to lock onto Katara's scent. But when he finds it, it's easy to track - blood always is. It won't have been more than ten minutes by the time he spots her figure on the ground.]

[When he draws closer he grits his teeth at her appearance. So much bruising, and her shoulder is definitely wrong. And the outfit...did the Malnosso think this kind of stuff was funny? Either way, he calls out before reaching her.] Katara!

[She is so out of it, it took her conversation with Vash to make her realize the atrocity they've stuffed her in.]

Hey, Chopper.

[That's an attempt at a smile. She'd reach up to swipe the blood away with her good hand, but she's kind of using it to support herself at the moment. Sitting is hard, okay?]

[): Kataraaaa. He'll have plenty of time to rage later, but for now, he has a job to do. Chopper drops down next to her in Heavy Point and presses a massive hand gently against the small of her back, supporting the rest of it along the length of his arm. He wastes no time, his free hand already glowing with Nala's magic and passing over each of them.]

[He gives the shoulder a wide berth for now, but he can see just from looking what's wrong with it.] Your shoulder's dislocated, Katara. I'll need to set it back in place. [...it'll probably hurt.]

[San is watching you both. But she has trust in Chopper - him being a deer and all - so it's not a suspicious look. Just a look.]

[Katara slumps into Chopper's hand. It feels so good to not be there, and to not have to worry, and to just let someone she trusts take care of things that she closes her eyes. A few silent tears stream out, but other than that, she doesn't cry]

Okay.

[Michael watches, still glowering as his mind goes over the things the Malnosso must've done to her.]

If there's anything I can do to help speed things up, say the word. I know my way around field dressing a wound, at least.

[Good. If there are people here, this can only go faster. He finishes with the remaining bruises and lowers her onto her back before changing forms again; he'll need more finesse with this than what big, clumsy hands can give.]

It'd help if both of you held her steady while I pop it back in. There might...be some kickback. San, get her other shoulder, and - [He gestures towards Michael] - you hold her legs.

[And to Katara, doing his best to concentrate when he sees those tears:] I'll make it quick. If...if you can manage to relax your muscles for me, it'll be much easier.

[she has no issues whatsoever (well, okay, maybe very small ones) with following Chopper's orders, and she comes closer to hold onto Katara's other arm and shoulder. But her attention is reserved for the other human present. The one with the gun. It's all she can do not to growl.]

[Michael follows his orders quickly, getting a firm grip at the top of Katara's boots and putting just enough of his weight on them to keep her imobilized. He gives San a cursory glance- and he can tell she's not a fan, though he's got no idea why. Michael's gaze quickly returns to Katara though, smiling reassuringly.]

Ready whenever you are, Katara.

[Katara really, really is not fond of the idea of being restrained. Didn't you see those bruises around her wrists and arms? She can't help but stiffen at that suggestion, and her eyes go a little wild at the corners.]

Do you really - [A deep, ragged breath and she shuts her eyes. San's hand on her arm is reassuring more than restraining and she isn't too tired to notice the hostility towards Michael - It's the gun, it's got to be - and she doesn't need to freak out right now, she needs to be calm and she can do that, because she has to. So Katara opens her eyes and nods.] All right.

[And Michael's already at her feet, before she's had a chance to consent and that makes her stiffen up again because - because. Another deep breath. Chopper said relax so. OK.]

All right. [Her voice is a little tight. She can't help that. And she nods, giving Chopper the best reassuring smile she can muster which... isn't that great, but it does the job.]

[He's sorry, Katara. He's been with the Malnosso - twice, now - and through the fogged memories, he knows what they do and how they do it. But he can't risk her arching up and damaging her shoulder even further, and if there are any injuries hidden under those clothes, they would be worsened as well. But the longer that shoulder stays out of the socket, the worse it'll get. This is the best he can do.]

[He slowly pulls the injured arm straight out to the side, keeping one hoof lightly touched on her shoulder to pinpoint where things are. It only takes a few seconds to calculate the angle and force he'll use.]

Okay.

[And then - just as Chopper is about to push her shoulder back into its socket - Katara suddenly becomes see-through, a mere outline of herself. She has been made completely insubstantial, as if her body was only air.]

[San barely has time to blink before she tips forward, catching herself on hands that appear to be going right through a transparent Katara]

[Michael just barely manages to keep from collapsing face first on the ground, his hands now gripping nothing, and only air to support the weight he had put on them. But as soon as he has his balance back, Michael rolls back onto his heels, wanting to give Katara space should she become corporeal again.]

...As if it wasn't enough the bastards dumped you here with those injuries.

[She goes transparent just as Chopper jerks forward. His unexpected momentum lands his hooves somewhere in Katara's neck; he jerks back almost as quickly, eyes wide. His breath hitches as he passes through her intangible arm.]

[...The Malnosso. They weren't content anymore with just maiming everyone and throwing them back into their cages - now they had to make it so that it was harder to clean up. Chopper draws back his hoof and hisses one word:] Bastards!

[Meanwhile, Katara's good intentions of not freaking out are completely shot.] GAH!

What's happening?!

[She tries to push herself up only to have her hand sink into the ground. She pulls it up quickly just as Chopper springs back, but THIS IS REALLY WEIRD and she doesn't like it at all!]

[This is so unnatural. San's seen a lot of stuff but not an invisible person.]

Will it go away?

[As for Michael, he's undecided on if he should be worried or angry- which lends to a less than pleasant expression on his face in the meantime.]

I certainly hope so...

Wait, Katara! [She's panicking - in any other situation, he would be, too - but he's not sure if moving around like that while insubstantial would still aggravate her injuries, and he's not wiling to find out.] Can you control it?

Control it? I don't even know what's happening!

[She's still transparent as she speaks - when suddenly she's made solid again, feels the pressure of their hands again, the pain of her shoulder and she winces silently.] Chopper - quick! Before it happens again.
