[After a good cry, some good advice, and throwing down with the whole of Luceti against Aku the other day, Katara is feeling much more like herself. And she is on a mission. She can be found mid-afternoon heading towards whatever store in Luceti sells paint.

Let's see... I guess I could go blue with green accents... or maybe something even more neutral? Maybe find a cream... No, no orange, it's too close to red...

[Katara has never had a chance to play with paints and colors before! She's a little lost with all the options. She just knows that she wants to make their shared space an open, welcoming one, one that represents all of them ~~and even the one that they're missing~~ and one which won't remind her of that stupid experiment's 'misplaced decimal.' But she has come far enough that she doesn't want it to just chase out Zuko either, although she is perfectly happy never seeing him again. Clearly, the girl is expecting too much out of paint. Someone help?]

Sounds like it's giving you some trouble. What exactly are you painting there, anyway?

Just the living room walls. Certain colors have a lot of significance for our peoples, so I want to make it someplace comfortable.

Got it. So it's got something to do with your world, then.

Something like that. [She doesn't really want to explain that the stupid experiment made her paint the living room the color of a nation that has been her enemy for her entire life.]

I don't know how long we're going to be here. But while we are here, and while the Malnosso aren't messing with our heads or we're out fighting giant demons in the streets, I'd like our house to be comfortable.

But I guess I'm just used to it by now. It's been almost a year since I showed up.

A year? Wow. [She shakes her head.] I've met people who've said they've been here even longer -- and is it always like this? All these experiments and demons attacking in the street?

The experiments happen just about every month. Usually they're just annoying, but don't get me started on that last one...

As for the attacks, that all depends. People come and go, but right now there are some people you're better off avoiding.

[Wryly] Yeah, I got that idea. My brother gave me a whole list when I got here.

You've been here longer than he has, though. Anyone you've got in mind?

Besides that list, the only person I can think of's already gone. Well, I'd be careful around anyone in a black coat, but that's about it.

What does a black coat have to do with it?

They're part of an Organization. I've only talked to a few, but according to Sora they're bad news.

Talked to their leader once, and it doesn't surprise me. He's gone now, though.

An Organization? Like -- the Organization we keep hearing about outside of the barrier? And who's Sora?

Different Organization. They're made up of "Nobodies"-- people without hearts. As for Sora, he's a friend of mine.

People without hearts? Without actual, literal hearts? How is that possible?

Beats me. I didn't even know about it until I got here, but apparently it has to do with darkness.
