[So it's safe to say that this month has been more than a little crazy. But with nothing exploding in the past few days, she's finally had some time to take care of some basic etiquette. There is no postal system in Luceti, so Katara will be making some visits today. Namely, to all those who gave her a present who she doesn't live with, so we're looking at: Buffy, Jack, Trafalgar Law, Masaomi Kida, Nara Shikamaru, Harry Dresden, Vivi, Mia, Raine and anyone else I may have missed in my scan of the present table. Once she finds your living place, you will receive a handmade thank you card with pressed flowers from her garden inside. (Naturally, any of these deliveries may be handwaved, and if anyone in one of those apartment buildings/houses wants to wonder what she's doing there, feel free to say hello!)
But - hark! - sometime during her jaunt out and about town, Katara actually spots something in the clothing shop that catches her eye. A hat display! Right by the window! She heads inside (just for a moment or two, she swears) to start trying on what look to be several very silly hats. Feel free to catch her at this activity, but be warned! She may try and fit you with a hat as well.]

Would you like to come in for a bit?

[She hasn't really seen him since he got back, after all.]
Thanks.

When 'lo, what do they find? But Amaya and Sumire having a stare off with the Goldfish that does not seem to be able to die. Yes, that same fish from the Luceti Valley experiment. Which has gotten suspiciously (for a goldfish) big in its fishbowl on the coffee table.]
Girls, leave the fish alone.
[The black cat and the gray cat turn to look at them with innocent eyes. We were doing nuthin'.
Why don't you believe us?]

Katara raises her eyebrows at the innocent look on the cats faces.]
Very convincing, you two.
[Go on, shoo.]

He nods to the girl politely as he moves to relocate them to the bedroom.]

Katara takes this moment to go very still. She doesn't even have the chance to nod back at Itachi, if she'd wanted to, because he's already on his way out of the room.

NEXT TIME.]
Thanks, Itachi.
[He feels Katara go still beside him. ... perhaps inviting her in wasn't the best thing. Perhaps this would be slightly easier outdoors and not caught in a room. But. The relationship was a fact, and he would not hide that away anymore than he had to. He would be discreet, but not out of shame.
Because he was not ashamed to love Itachi.]
... one of these days I should get a proper aquarium for the... er, little guy. Before Amaya or Sumire manage to really reel him in.
[Trying to shatter a small amount of the tension here.]

[Fresh fish dinner was tempting.]

[She says as she moves, now, to make herself at home and head into the kitchen. Have any lemonade?]
Hawky still doesn't like it when anyone other than Sokka comes too near.

[We have a pitcher of iced green tea with sliced lemons in it.
And a lot of booze. This is their fridge after all. The pitcher is probably the safest bet.]
Oh? I hate to say it, but that's the most jealously possessive bird I've ever even.

Did you have anyone watch them while you two were gone?

I didn't know deer came all the way out here.
[Retrieving a glass now.]

[And she pours herself some of that iced tea.]
Do you want anything?
[While she's here and all.]

[She smiles and does so, before replacing the iced tea in the fridge.
She carries the glass over to him.]
How was the mission? You still look a little tired.

...
There were a lot of cultists to deal with. It was just... brutal.
no subject
But there's not much to say, really. So she just hands him his iced tea.]
no subject
It had been brutal. And bloody. So he nods and takes his iced tea.]
Thank you.

Sure.
[Simple acceptance in her tone.]

So how's things been with you while we were gone?
[Slight change of subject go.]
