[It happened quickly. One moment she was fourteen, her back aching as the wings stretched across scars, the next she was seventeen and the relief of pain was almost dizzying. The memories sorting in and through her were easily as dizzying.

She fell down to her knees as her two lives collided and when she rose, both sets of memories were confused, but she knew who she was. And she wanted to see her family. She didn't walk. She ran all the way home.

Much later, she made a post to her journal, filtered to her friends.]

Hi, everyone. I know that I don't say this enough and... I know that this month is kind of stressful. But I just wanted to say how glad, how really glad I am to have met all of you. I don't say it enough. You're all people I've come to rely on, and I'm so glad you're in my life.

...and I remember you now, just in case you were wondering. I hope I'll see you all very soon.

[Aang was on the front lawn, having just finished a meditation session, and he was rising with some quiet dignity. He was dressed in somewhat wintery attire and took a moment to dust himself off while wondering what to do next.

Then his eye caught a unique form that was running towards him. He was almost petrified as the form became clearer - more familiar, in a distinct way. And he looked towards her, his mouth open as if preparing to speak but afraid of being proven wrong.

Aang! [She called out, her heart clenching as she saw him. Oh, the things she had said were nothing to the things she'd wanted to say and--] Aang!

[There's no mistaking that voice. The way it calls out to him. And his face brightens up; he lets himself feel hopeful again. Aang's heart pulses with joy as he finds his feet rushing to carry him towards her.]

[Like when she'd been returned from her kidnapping, Toph could sense Katara before she was inside the house. Her heart jumps, but she hesitates - what if she still wasn't normal? What if she treated them like strangers again?

So Toph doesn't run out to greet her this time. Instead, she hesitantly heads toward the front door to wait.]

Katara didn't knock. She just opened the door and called out, "Hello! Anybody ho-- Toph!"

She stepped inside quickly and shut the door behind her, somewhat out of breath from her long run.

Katara went quickly into his hug, starting to cry the moment she saw him, "Sokka!"

She couldn't necessarily let herself fall apart about her life in front of anyone else. But he'd seen it all, he knew how it started, and she'd missed him so much.
