[It's the second day of a heatwave, and it's amazing how little things like weather can drive man-eating butterflies, flying trees of burning pointy doom, and missing friends from a Southern Watertibe girl's mind. ...OK, maybe not that last one, but she's feeling this heat in her bones, man, and it's driven her to put on her Fire Nation outfit and just lounge around, trying not to think about the horrible things she's seen week... which of course makes her think about the horrible things she's seen everywhere.

But the best way to get rid of bad memories is to think about good ones... and when that fails, make them.

And so, Katara Has An Idea. She grabs her brother, he agrees, and they make their way to the center of the square and set up a table. It's laden with fruits and sugars and stacks of glasses.

A little bit of waterbending later? And that fountain is now completely iced over, meant to resemble one of their 'Great Wonders of the World', an ice oasis in the middle of the desert.

When they're all set up, Katara makes a voice entry.]

Hey, everyone! Come on to the fountain for free fruit slushies!

[Feel free to come upon them on any part of the process, stop by for a slushie, or take a look at the pretty ice-fountain! Either Sokka, Katara or (eventually, as I have to run out right now) both will answer!]

Of course. The usual. [Caesar nods. It seemed like a lot of people had those kinds of stories to tell. He just didn't tend to listen to them.] I can understand if it just happens to be convenient for a day like this.

I don't use my Fire Nation clothes anymore. [Only Wang Fire does. In any case, his Water Tribe clothes are actually looser than what he had to wear in disguise.] Besides, I work in the smithy all the time. It's a lot hotter in there then it is out here.

[Katara plucks at her shirt.] Maybe I will see if I can die it blue. If we're going to be stuck here and it gets this hot in the summer...

[Caesar can tell by Sokka's words that he's not too pleased with his sister's actions. Maybe he should cut this short, then. It would be awkward to get stuck in the middle of it.]

It'll require some adjustment, of course. [He takes a sip of his drink and glances away from the two, in the direction of the store.] I think I was supposed to be doing something...

[He's not that bothered. It's more the fact that it's revealing than it is red that bothers him.]

Oh come on Ceasar! [Have an arm wrapped around your shoulder.] Why do that? I've got two boats finished now, you know. And it's warm. Isn't it about time we had that fishing trip?

[Dude, she wore this all around the Fire Nation and you didn't even blink. As it is, she raises her eyes at Sokka's wrapping his arm around Casear's shoulders. That's never good.]

...you're still going to go kill the talking fish?

Huh. We were supposed to go fishing, weren't we. [His tone is disinterested. He didn't forget, he just kind of hoped that Sokka would have.] I'm not terribly busy anymore, I suppose. I'm sure we can figure something out.

Yes Katara. I'll be eating talking fish. [Have a roll of the eyes as he turns back to Caesar.]

We'll take Hugo too. And see who else wants to go.

[Sokka is obviously doing his best to exclude Katara from the conversation and draw a 'men's only' line. Normally, this is something that she would protest.

But he wants to go kill and eat talking fish. That's not something she wants to hear about anymore.] Ugh.

[So she lays her hand briefly on Caesar's arm to get his attention away from Sokka, and smiles at him.] I'm glad that you're back okay. I'll talk to you later, all right?

[Katara is successful in getting his attention, but he can't totally ignore what Sokka said, so he nods at Katara before turning to Sokka and giving him some kind of affirmation.] Sounds like a plan.

[Caesar uses a hand to shove Sokka's arm away now so he can make his escape. He takes another sip of his drink before he speaks.] Thanks. I'll see ya guys later.

[Katara, dammit, you let him go. Bah!]

Seeya Caesar. [After he's gone though, that reminds him of something.] Oh, that reminds me!

[Katara turns back to Sokka.] What's up?

You saw his brother here earlier, right? [His face sports a thinly veiled smile.]

[He's looking very pleased with himself. Katara mentally prepares for wild cat owls to start falling out of the afternoon sky.]

Yeah. Albert, right?

Well, in his world he's a master strategist. [Huuuuuge grin.]

And he agreed to teach me! Isn't that great!?

[...speaking of coming out of left-field.]

[She's happy for you, Sokka, but...]

Really? You want to learn from him? And what do you expect to learn about strategy that you don't already know, anyway?

[Way to be a killjoy. He blinks and is quiet for a moment.]

What's wrong with him? Besides. My plans haven't exactly been working out lately. It's about time I learned from someone with experience with that sort of thing. I won't know until I try, anyway.

[She reaches out to touch his shoulder. She'd hug him, but it's too freaking hot.] I think it's a great idea, Sokka. It won't hurt to practice, anyway. It's just that from talking to Caesar... their ideas about strategy seem weird.

I don't have to agree with him to learn from him. [In other words, he won't sacrifice people. Not like that.]
