[It's the second day of a heatwave, and it's amazing how little things like weather can drive man-eating butterflies, flying trees of burning pointy doom, and missing friends from a Southern Watertibe girl's mind. ...OK, maybe not that last one, but she's feeling this heat in her bones, man, and it's driven her to put on her Fire Nation outfit and just lounge around, trying not to think about the horrible things she's seen week... which of course makes her think about the horrible things she's seen everywhere.

But the best way to get rid of bad memories is to think about good ones... and when that fails, make them.

And so, Katara Has An Idea. She grabs her brother, he agrees, and they make their way to the center of the square and set up a table. It's laden with fruits and sugars and stacks of glasses.

A little bit of waterbending later? And that fountain is now completely iced over, meant to resemble one of their 'Great Wonders of the World', an ice oasis in the middle of the desert.

When they're all set up, Katara makes a voice entry.]

Hey, everyone! Come on to the fountain for free fruit slushies!

[Feel free to come upon them on any part of the process, stop by for a slushie, or take a look at the pretty ice-fountain! Either Sokka, Katara or (eventually, as I have to run out right now) both will answer!]

[ Fina looks over apologetically at the water bender as she beckons the sullen Cupil back over to her. ]

Y-Yes. [ She bows. ] It's nice to meet you in person.

You too! [And she sees her beckoning the silver-thing back towards herself and can't help but ask-] Um, what is that?

[ OOC: Cool beans! And we will probably grab Sokka when they want smoothies, yes? ]

This is Cupil.. um, is that sculpture yours? I'm sorry.

[ OOC: Sounds like a plan! ]

Oh, well - it's not really mine. I just froze the fountain. It seemed like it would be nice to just have a something to cool down today. Cupil was fine if the ice won't hurt him.

It is a bit uncomfortable... you really froze it all by yourself?

[She nods.] I'm a waterbender.

[She's... not sure how else to explain it, or if more is even necessary, but...] In my world, there are four elements. Water, earth, air, and fire. Benders can train to be able to, well, bend them.

[ Fina blinks and tilts her head in thought. ]

Benders? I... think I can remember someone telling me about that. A boy with an arrow on his head.

[She can't help it - the response to hearing about him is an instinctive, immediate surge of joy and hope so strong she forgets for a moment that -]

[Right. He's not here, and she doesn't want him to be here either. Because this place is terrible. And it doesn't matter how much she misses him, he has things to be doing at home that are important and...

That was probably a friend of mine. He was here for a little while, but then he went home. When did you speak with him?

Um... he was one of the first friends I made when I came to Luceti. It must have been over a year ago now, if not more.

[ The smile on her face falters. ] I'm sorry... have I upset you?

[She doesn't seem to have heard Fina's question.]

Wow, that long ago? I didn't know he'd been here twice...

[She's... not sure how she feels about that.] I know that I'd been here before - was I there too, do you remember?
