[Stirring awake, the first thing she notices is that it's cold -- and it's not cold in the fire nation. Glancing up and around there are snowflakes all around her... and no one in her group.] Aang? Sokka? Toph?

Where are my clothes? [Shuddering, she rubs her arms together.]

[Time to get a little louder now, stomping around, and where is the fire and why is she in a forest?] Toph? Aang? Sokka!? This isn't funny!

Ow! What? What is this? [The sound of turning pages. She'll close it and start looking around in a minute for some shelter and her friends, not necessarily in that order. This Southern Watertribe girl is not about to get frostbite in some strange forest just because she woke up in weird clothes with no shoes.]

Yes, yes, and wait. All together? When I arrived, I had already been back at home in the South Pole. Preeetty sure Toph wasn't there.

We'd just finished with the whole defeating the Fire Lord thing when I got sent here.

. . . the Fire Lord? Who's that?

It's the different times thing, right? People from the same place hailing from varying time periods.

[At Toph's words, Katara completely freezes. 'Different times' sinks in, but doesn't make any sense. Nothing makes any sense.] Woah -- what? Defeated him? [She looks from Toph to Sokka and back again, her eyes painfully wide and speaks with a small voice.] You mean... it's over? We won?

The Fire Lord was only the baddest guy on the entire planet. He was gonna turn the Earth Kingdom into one giant piece of charred real estate. But yeah, Aang totally did a number on him. Toph and I were there too. We took down, what, over a dozen airships? No big.

Yeah, I made an iron suit. It pretty much kicked butt. Sokka lost his sword and boomerang, but he got 'em back here. And you and Zuko took out his crazy sister, if you wanna know what you were doing during the big battle.

I'm guessing the Fire Lord leads the Fire Nation. Man, is there nothing good about the Fire Nation? All I've heard has been bad on its image. But given what the Fire Lord was trying to do, I suppose it can't be helped.

And an airship must be . . . a ship in the sky? That sounds awfully weird. Do I have that right?

[Hold on, rest of the world. Katara's brain just broke.] Zuko!!! Why would I do anything to help him?! Even if it was to fight against Azula!

[Oh joy. Sokka can see exactly where this is going. This isn't going to end well, especially since their mother's murderer isn't exactly around for Katara and Zuko to bond over and try to kill. He'll just have to be as tactful as possible. Sorry Tormod, but angry sister takes priority.]

Zuko decided he hated his dad and joined us. You didn't like him at all, but you eventually warmed up to him. So you can totally just pretend like that already happened and not be mad at Zuko [and added VERY quietly under his breath.] since you'll be living with him.

You and Zuko pretty much had some kind of bonding trip. I never had a Zuko bonding trip. Maybe now he's here I can get one.

And yes. An airship is a ship that flies in the sky. And now that Zuko's Fire Lord I'm thinking the Fire Nation's going to get much better.

Ah, is that so? That's good to hear. Any nation can be great as long as the leader in charge is just and fair.

Bonding trip?? Just and fair. Zuko. Ha! Have you guys forgotten that he practically killed Aang? None of what you're saying makes any sense! I don't remember any of this!

Well, Katara, here's the thing. Toph and I do remember this. So does Zuko. So maybe you could pretend to not hate him? A little, maybe?

Yeah, Katara, you weren't here for the save the world thing. I mean, you were...but I guess you haven't been there yet. But trust me, it happens.

I should leave you guys to talk this out amongst yourselves; not to mention I should go find my things.

Katara, you can keep the cape for now. Gotta go!

[She turns to give the cape back to Tormod - after all they brought her a blanket. But he's long gone and by the time she turns back around attention is all on this 'Zuko is your friend' craziness.] No. I'm not going to pretend that I 'got over it' or that stuff happened which I don't remember happening. What you're talking about sounds like it could be a crazy dream! I mean -- Zuko deciding he hates his father, joining us?

[Deep breath] I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but all this... [She shakes her head. Snow. Wings. Defeating the Fire Lord. Not hating Zuko. For all she knows this is a bad dream or part of those 'experiments' Sokka was talking about.]

[Sigh. This isn't going as smoothly as Sokka had hoped. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO UNFORGIVING, SISTER. Maybe it's time to change gears here.]

Alright, fine. Fine. Whatshisname is gone now, so maybe we should get back to the house. The most important thing is that you're here now.

[Aw man. Does this mean more weeks and weeks of Katara sniping at Zuko? She thought they'd passed that whole awkward settling in period. Great, this meant another tension-filled living situation. Good thing she was hitting the desert for two days.] You know...we're gonna need a bigger house.

[Sokka was right. She was cold and confused but being together was the most important thing. Her problems with Zuko were just that - her problems. She'd thought that Sokka would have backed her up on this, and she was a little hurt that he hadn't... but he and Toph were talking about things like they'd already happened, so unless they were both brainwashed... Her problem. She'd deal with it.]

Yeah, let's just go... wait. Why do we need a bigger house? And -- we have a house?

[If it came down to it, Sokka would side with Katara, but for now he's hoping they can all just be one big happy group of friends again. In any case, he's leading them back to their current home.]

As a matter of fact, we do have a house and while it is certainly a nice house, it only has three rooms. So unless you want to share with Toph [Or him for that matter], we'll have to go looking for something else.

If anything, she's sharing with you. Aren't you siblings? But yeah, I think a new house is in order, especially if Aang's going to get himself nabbed. Or anyone else. Actually, it's pretty creepy how we're almost all together now.

[One thing guaranteed to shift Katara's focus from herself? Aang being in danger.] That can't happen. The world needs him! Even if -- all that stuff happened which you said happened. He's the Avatar.

Do you guys remember anything before you got taken? Maybe there's some way we can warn him...

[Sokka shrugs.] You, me, Zuko, and Aang have been here. Azula too. We all were sent home and apparently none of us remembered it. If Aang shows up, I don't think it's going to change things at home. [It's one of those things he's spent a lot of time dwelling on. Also a reason he likes to keep busy so he doesn't have to. Nothing like knowing that anything you do is absolutely meaningless.]

Some guy told me I've been here, too. I don't know when that was supposed to be- when back home, not when here. When here was months and months ago, but who knows when they nabbed me last time. [Something she doesn't really like to think about, too.]

[Katara's not sure yet if she's relieved or really creeped out by this. On the one hand - that means that everything back home will be all right. On the other... any one of them could be anywhere, hurting, and she'd never know. No. This is not going to be on her list of favorite things.] Oh.

[Silent trudging forward] ...that doesn't make any sense. [Shivers] And what was Tormod talking about -- other worlds?
