[For no very specific reason at all, Katara is happy this late afternoon. The air is getting colder, and the very fact that it's nipping at her face is enough to make her smile. Add to that the glorious storm of yesterday, that it is still drizzling...

It's started drizzling as she runs her errands in town, and she puts a hand up to bend an 'umbrella' above her head as she walks along. She forgets herself, though, as she comes to some large puddles in the road, and dropping her hand, stares at them for half a beat.

Well, she's already wet.

So she jumps in. Not bending at all, simply splashing about in the puddles along her way.

Feel free to catch her in this rare display of immaturity and glee - or even join her! Hopefully she won't catch a cold.

Much later, as she prepares dinner for her house, she makes a voice post.]

Anyone else looking forward to the change in the weather?

[And a few drops, while she focuses, fall away from Ami and to the ground]

That's great! And now see - I don't know. Try to push. Like the tides.

[If only she knew it, this was all so much easier (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgmhmVlH37U) in the darkness. But the same abilities are still inside her. Ami gives a serious nod, and the water drips away quicker, leaving her drier and drier]

[Katara just smiles encouragingly - what she's doing is obviously different than bending, she's not sure saying anything else will help.]

[And finally, all dry! Ami smiles with honest accomplishment.]

I did it. Thank you.

[A quick grin!] No need to thank me! You did it all yourself.

Now, how about that tea?

[But Katara helped!]

Mm! Let's go.

Does the Seventh Heaven sound okay to you?

I don't know it, but I'd like to try it.

Then let's go! [And since the covering does not extend all the way to the Seventh Heaven, Katara bends a rain umbrella for them as they go.]

My friend Sanji runs the place now. He's very nice, you'll like him.

[This is the difference between a girl who uses her powers only to fight, and a girl who uses them as part of daily life. Ami's never thought of using the water like that. She smiles brightly as she glances upward, and reaches up to test it.]

[It's a fairly simple move, so with any luck Ami should be able to get it.]

Ah, you want to do it yourself? [She leaves off bending over Ami for a moment.]

[Kyah! That means Ami getting wet! Ok, so she doesn't really mind. But it does make her have to try to figure this out quickly. She can feel the rain, but can she stop it like that?

...Not at first. Droplets cling to her hair and clothes.]

You don't have to try to stop them. Just try to move them away. See how I'm still moving my hand?

You mean the same gestures you use?

I don't mean using them - I just mean - instead of trying to stop it, just try to move it.

Ah. I understand.

[And the advice seems to bring her better success as she moves most of the rain away this time]

It's easier, because the water is already moving. Stopping it once it's in motion is harder.

And here we are! [Stepping right up to the front door.]

It's a cute place.

I think Sanji did a nice job, but it was mostly like this before. You never came in here, your whole time? Or do you just no remember before you got better?

[Moving towards the seats now.]

[She shakes her head] I don't think I've been here.

Oh. [And a smile.] Well, it's a good time to start. What kind of tea do you like?

I'd like Jasmine, if they have it.

I'm sure they do! [Katara orders Ginseng, and soon the two girls are warming their hands around a cup of tea.]

So why don't you tell me more about what your world was like? You came from a place where they had regular schools and things, didn't you?

[She remembers this from their... encounters... at the school here.]
