[These decorations have been up for a few days now, and while at first Katara thought they were pretty they have now succeeded in making her grumpy. Yes. Very grumpy. Grumpy enough to make a post about it, in fact.]

How do they expect us to sleep with all these lights in our window? I've put a double curtain over it, and the light is still keeping me awake. Does anyone have any ideas?

[You might catch some muttering about: "Moving to sleep down in the basement" or "It's not too cold to camp out in the forest" before the journal shuts. She'll get back to it in a little bit, she just needs to finish making the grocery list.

Once she finishes with any replies that she may receive, Katara heads into town. The lights really are pretty. And so are the wreaths and the snowmen and the... unfamiliar sprigs of green over the doorway to the grocery store really kind of... isn't. Why is that even there? Katara pauses underneath it to examine it more closely...]

Well, maybe you could use cardboard instead! Or that really thin weird wood. [He means plywood.] That'll be easier to put up, right?

Maybe I'll try that as a last resort. [She's already had to talk Sokka OUT of something like this.] But before that we'll try those sleep masks, I think.

Oh... what's a sleep mask? [He's picturing something like the All-Night Mask from Halloween and is a bit. Confused.]

Just a cloth mask without any holes for the eyes. If the Items Shop doesn't have it, I guess I could always make them...

Oh. That sounds easier than putting wood up! [Grinning a bit sheepishly - why didn't he think of that?]

It sounds like it might be easier to keep the view in the morning, yeah.

[And Katara likes the whole 'being able to see when people come up to their house' part.]

Uh huh. Maybe I could do something like that - I could pull my hat down! [And he demonstrates.]

[Those are some severely ruffled bangs when he pushes it back up.]

[Pfff. This gets a smile out of her.]

Maybe. It wouldn't hurt to try, anyway!

[He gives them a cursory pat down, then grins.] Oh well. They're kind of pretty when they're not stopping people from sleeping.

[Did he just... call his own hair pretty?

Katara can't help it, she laughs.

Man, she knew the guys in Luceti were pretty, but this takes the cake.]

[Nnnnnnot quite. It's probably good for what little dignity Link possesses that he can't read her thoughts.]

They are! They're all twinkly like the fairies in the forest - and when they go multicoloured, they even look like them, too.

[Ooooh, the lights. She reigns in her laughter.] Yes, they're pretty enough.

[...] What are fairies?

[Let us never speak of this again.]

Oh - fairies live in the forests in Hyrule. They look like glowing balls with wings, and they can guide people or heal them or look after them and do all sorts of things!

[And there's a crude drawing that looks vaguely like this.]

Oh, they're lovely! And you say they're little people?

Uh huh! [...Pause.] I think. The Great Fairies look like people, but they don't glow or have wings. I don't really know what normal fairies look like under the glow.

Wow, that sounds pretty amazing.

They're pretty neat! If Navi ever comes to Luceti, you can meet her and see for yourself, okay?

I'd like that!

Great! Although maybe not when you're trying to sleep. [He laughs a little.]
