[The past few days have been good for Katara. The happy from mending her rift with Sanji hasn't faded, rather it has turned into a sort of muted contentment and being outside and with good company was good for the soul.

Of course, not everyone was having such a good time... but she couldn't really blame Caesar for that, considering the way he'd shown up. Everyone else seemed to be... mostly getting along. And it was so nice to be doing that which felt a little bit more familiar.

Not to mention the fact that she's been able to spend so much time in and around the water. Just now, she was taking a swim after dinner. It was so good to be so close to so much water again - just feel it on her senses, tugging at her awareness. It was almost like home, but in a way that made her happy instead of sad - because she refused to be sad as long as she had a choice about it.

Getting up, she wrings the water out of her hair and bends the rest off before making her way towards her journal.

[She will be nice and bend the water off of him and back into the lake, where it belongs.]

[She grins at him and shrugs a little.]

Who knows? I have to go get these fish ready, though. [He holds the several fish he's got dangling in one hand and holds a knife up to them, indicating he's about to go scale them.] Tonight I have real food!

[Ugh.]

Well, that's just great. I hope you don't get a stomach ache. You know, from a guilty conscience.

[markofthewise]

You know what, let's consult the fish. [He tucks the knife away and looks at the fish.] Hey. Fish. Do you mind me eating me?

[He moves his hand over the mouth of one fish and opens it and closes it and replies with a higher pitched voice.] No, Sokka! Go right ahead. If you didn't eat me, another fish was gonna do it anyway!

[He nods.] That's very decent of you. [He turns back to Katara.] There. The fish are okay with it. Time to get busy.

[She crosses her arms.] The last time you did something like that, you were trying to tell us that the swamp didn't mind you cutting into it. Then we were split three different ways.

[He rolls his eyes.]

That was because of Huu grabbing us with his planty tentacle things, not the plants I was cutting.

[markofthebrave]

And why did Huu grab us with those vines?

[markofthewise]

Because he scares off all people who show up there. It's kind of his job.

[markofthebrave]

Oh, all the people there who go through the swamp cutting it up like they're making a sandwich? You're right, Sokka. That was sort of his job.

Hey, in my defense, the swamp started it by dragging us down there first. Appa was nearly made into a meal because of that, remember?

Yes, Sokka. It was clearly the swamp's fault. Because there was nothing special about it. At all. Just like you said.

It may have had some spirit-y stuff going on that made us see stuff. That barely counts. That stuff happens all the time with Aang around.

[And this conversation is starting to get uncomfortable. He saw Yue in the swamp. The other day he saw Yue in chalk. Last night he thought he saw her when he had some 'business' to take care of.]

[...You are sulking, big brother. They could normally argue about something like this for hours - why the change in attitude?]

Mmhmm.

Anyway! [Good spot to change subjects.]

These fish are going to start stinking if I don't get busy.

Mmhmm - you're not usually so eager to scale fish.

Unlike you, I happen to be hungry. A shame you won't have any. A nice fish stew would be a lot nicer than just smoking them.

They're talking fish. [But she is very, very hungry. Swimming does that to you. And they do look awfully good...]

Were talking fish. Do you know the sort of things they say? It tends to be along the lines of "Food food food! Predator! Run run run!" and so on.

But now they're dinner.

Have you actually talked with them?

[markofthewise]

No. But I've heard the rabbits. The birds. And so on. It's pretty much all the same.

[markofthebrave]

[Grumbly:] That's not what I heard.

[Sigh.] So are you having fun?

[markofthewise]

Of course I'm having fun. [He hasn't had this much fun in Luceti since, well... that time he and Toph threw a party.] Too bad we can't just stay out here.

[She shoots him a soft assessing look.] Yeah? You like it that much?
