[After a good cry, some good advice, and throwing down with the whole of Luceti against Aku the other day, Katara is feeling much more like herself. And she is on a mission. She can be found mid-afternoon heading towards whatever store in Luceti sells paint.

Fire Nation Red in her living room? Not anymore!]

Let's see... I guess I could go blue with green accents... or maybe something even more neutral? Maybe find a cream... No, no orange, it's too close to red...

[Katara has never had a chance to play with paints and colors before! She's a little lost with all the options. She just knows that she wants to make their shared space an open, welcoming one, one that represents all of them ~~and even the one that they're missing~~ and one which won't remind her of that stupid experiment's 'misplaced decimal.' But she has come far enough that she doesn't want it to just chase out Zuko either, although she is perfectly happy never seeing him again. Clearly, the girl is expecting too much out of paint. Someone help?]

...what's there to talk about? It happened, now it's done. All we can do now is fix what we can and move forward.

I am having a very dull day, Katara. You want some help with your painting?

[So many people being so helpful!]

I've already got the first coat up. I don't really need much help with it. But if you want to come over and help me watch paint dry, that's fine.

Better than staring at my ceiling any more than this. I'll be right over.

[And give her a bit, but she will indeed get a knock on the door.]

[And so Katara opens the door and Nami is greeted with a cheerfully yellow room, the dark red still bleeding through the lighter color.]

Hi, Nami! Come on in.

[Pfft, your living room clashes with Nami's hair. Outrage! ...or not. Have a smile.]

Hey. Still have to put the second coat on, huh? [Coming on in!]

[Hey, it's a very subtle and soft yellow!]

Yeah. I don't know much about painting, but I do know that it should probably dry before I put on the second coat.

Do you want something to eat or -- maybe we could find some place that doesn't smell like paint.

Sounds like a plan to me. We could try Seventh Heaven? They do decent meals. [...] Well, when the local demon population hasn't suddenly decided they want to take up cooking, anyway.

Sure, we can do that. Just let me grab my coat. [Moves to do so.]

...The local demon population took up cooking?

Well, one of them did. He was very bad at it. Gave people food poisoning. [Waiting by the door!] Then a day later, I decided to join the marines and tried to arrest him.

[And here we are, walking out the door.] Oh? Which demon is that?

[And so she tries to picture Aku cooking. It's a disturbing image.] And why did you try to arrest him?

A guy called Yuber. Wears black, has a blond braid, calls us all worthless humans. Uh ... avoid him at all costs, if you can.

And I tried to arrest him because at the time I was trying to be a good little marine. The last experiment had us all trying out jobs we were really kind of bad at.

Yeah, Sokka told me about him. That must have been the experiment where Sokka thought he was a firebender and Toph thought she was a masseuse. [She cuts Nami a glance and says cautiously] Sokka had a meeting. About Yuber. Your crew was there. Did they fill you in on that?

[Her smile flattens for just a moment, but then she gives a small laugh.] I know they went. I was a little busy with another meeting that day. But no, I haven't heard what was decided yet.

Then again, things went a little haywire shortly afterward, so I guess people got distracted.

[Katara doesn't miss that, but she's not sure what it's about so she won't comment on it.] Yeah, things sure have been...

I can sum it up, if you want. [She glances around] Although maybe not when we're in the open.

Hmm ... well if you like, we could divert back to our house and raid the kitchen? Or if Sanji-kun is home I'm sure he wouldn't mind making us something.

Sokka would kill me if his plan got out because I wasn't being careful. It's up to you, really! You were the one who said you were bored.

Well, let's go back there for lunch, then. I'm sure I won't be that bored with good company. [Bypassing the plaza then and heading for home!]

...Does your house have a... flag on it?

[Grin.] Yup. We're pirates, remember? No ship, but it's nice to remember who we are.

[And opening the door to let Katara in, calling out cheerfully.] Sanji-kun! Are you home?

[in a whirlwind of hearts, Sanji appears from the kitchen with his usual enthusiasm. Pink apron and all]

Welcome home, Nami-swaaaaaa--- [stops midflight when he sees there is another woman present]

Ah, Katara-chan is with you?

Would you two ladies like anything to eat?

[Katara's greeting to Sanji pauses on her lips and she blinks and rubs her eyes] Are those -- hearts?

[Well, obviously Sanji-kun is a heartbender or something. ~~He's like that poor kid from Captain Planet~~ Still, have a giggle.]

Hi Sanji-kun. We'd love some lunch, if you don't mind? Katara needed to get away from some paint fumes.

Hearts from the very center of the wide abyss, mellorine~! [even his mun has no clue what that means.

And he'll just skip off back into the kitchen. The hearts thankfully disappear with him]

Is there anything in particular you two would like? I was thinking a few sandwiches. [and by that, he means gourmet]

[But - wait - what was that with the... Nami's acting like nothing is out of the ordinary and they just -- disappeared? Katara gives the place a skeptical glance, but she follows along.]

Whatever's easy is fine, Sanji. Thanks.
